also, does it feel like the cars handle a bit differently online?  if feels like I'm spinning out way more, and the brakes feel touchier as well.

Are you starting with zero driving skill? I haven't played since the online launch so I know nothing Jon Snow.

I was able to get in last night and get through the initial race after several attempts, then got through a few MP missions, enough to get me to level 5.

I was doing a stranger mission that meant i needed to jump off the tallest building(i think),so to get up there i used the blimp,as i landed my blimp on the building,a helicopter came and landed on top of my blimp

Okay,not a great pic Tongue

after parachuting half way across the city i ran back to see if my blimp could still be seen...it could

Spent 4 hours today trying to get in from the UK, never managed to get to the first race, tried solo, crew and all the other ones, tried changing my broadband connection among other things and sod al. It sucks l

Back from vacation! What's the status of the issue that playing Online might potentially corrupt saved games?

Are very few of you playing, or can you not get in?

I'm finding it nearly impossible to find crew mates or friends in Online games.    I do a join Crew game and Join Friends and I have yet to find anything.    It's a *LOT* less fun with random people.

I wish I had a better setup for my headphones.   Right now I have my computer headphones plugged into an adapter for the 360.   I have to put my wireless Xbox headset on my ear for the mic, and then lay my headphones over the top of it on my head.

There has to be a better way.

got disconnected from XBL during that bike race, and had a scare when I got reconnected and started up the game only to find myself back at the intro.  thankfully my saves were still there, not sure how long ago I backed up my current saves but I did so right quickly.

I totally did not realize we had rockets in the race, I was shocked when I blew up a couple of cars after I hit the bumper while braking. I don't recall even seeing the rocket ammo icon before that happened.

some things I learned tonight in a few co-op missions:

for some reason people think being in a car makes you invincible.  a couple of times the person driving the car I was a passenger in just drove up to the enemies before stopping.  it was kind of like being in a landing craft on D-Day...  I think the best strategy may be to stop close by and approach on foot.

being a passenger sucks in general.  it seems like you have a horrible field of fire (realistic of course) and can only watch in horror as the person driving smashes into every car in the way.

don't follow the most obvious route in games where it is co-op with 2 teams.  I totally through off the opposing team by taking a longer, less direct route with the person I was escorting while the enemy team focused on the other players all bunched up.

Bicycles suck, and when a race says 'mixed terrain' just ignore it and go for the fastest vehicle available.  at the beginning levels you'll probably have the same luck with any bike, so choosing a dirt bike or ATV over a street bike on a off road/on road course really doesn't seem to help.

That rocket salvo I nailed you with as we jumped down the mountain was pretty sweet to see. I initially thought the salvo was short, but then I saw your name flash by as your pink quad cartwheeled away.

I think the splash damage got me, at first it didn't look like a hit on my end either then the screen went grey.  I was laughing my ass off at all the rockets flying by me in the race before, not sure how I was getting so lucky but they all seemed to be just missing.  oh, and grabbing the repair drop can really screw you up when your car suddenly is going way faster than it was because it was smashed up.  I thought for sure I was going to get nailed the first time I grabbed it and immediately slammed into the wall on the next turn from the unexpected acceleration.

I'll have to find my mic too, or the Kinect.
I was also confused there for a moment as we had all just crashed into each other before exploding.  icon_lol
Is, I actually prefer to choke in a dramatic fashion with a captive audience, so that header into the concrete barricade in the final seconds was very much a victory to me.  Plus, there may be a snapped neck ranking!  The big dirt bike was clearly the shiz on that map.
On a related note, I will be interested to see if the BMX bicycle handles the sand that much better than the racer, if we race on the beach often.

yeah, I was going to rake you guys with pistol fire, and then everything went FWOOSH and KABOOM and then I was like paranoid as I drove away (I think I even apologized, not sure if my mic was on at that point since no one else seemed to be talking).  I felt kind of bad, that was more violence than I intended to inflict.

I had a long mission last night with two guys from work.    It was one of those where you steal the evidence.   The other team is trying to steal the evidence too, and the cops are trying to get it back.    It was a wild 20 to 30 minutes where we continued to swap possession chasing each other all over the map.

That mission alone showed me the potential this game has in multiplayer.

Played online a while tonight with a bunch of folks including MooseFoe from our Crew (by the way, he drives very well nod). Races were ok, but had a hard time finding a decent mission. Also, last night I bought a garage for $25,000; today I don't own that garage anymore and I'm out 25K   icon_frown

Am I crazy or do the game graphics seem to be worse in Online as opposed to SP?

I'm also seeming to have trouble getting much money in GTAO. I'm going to be switching back to SP to complete the campaign.

they may have lowered the level for better performance.  I remember some of the Rainbow Six games did that.

It's standard practice. We're seeing this on next-gen titles too. Killzone, for example, runs at 30 fps in single player and 60 fps in multiplayer. They can only do this by changing the graphical quality.

You can sell a car to the mod shops about every 45 mins or so.  The Hummer goes for 5k (very recognizable), worth doing when you think of it.

I found out about selling cars, I didn't realize that I have to wait 45 minutes between icon_frown. I guess that makes sense.

Also I had to get rid of my Ruiner personal car; I got some crud on the hood that won't come off  icon_lol

I love the detail in GTAV... check out these signs on the side of a bridge you might see once the whole time you are playing the game. I think that's really an error on the second line of the sign on the left, or maybe the photo is a bit off:

And thanks CeeKay for those links; I'm really getting into those details of the game.
