Yeah, I've played Sleeping Dogs, but had to abandon it as I find the combat difficult.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one. I liked the game, but the requirement to fight martial art style finally did me in.

Yeah pretty much the same for me,IIRC it was similar to the Batman games but IMO was much more punishing on your hands, and there was a lot of fighting as well

I am still glad that game did reasonably well though(yes, thats a Screw You Activision thing again)

once I got the 'rhythm' done it wasn't bad, but I remember wasting a lot of time in the starting tutorials trying to get the timing just right.

I still think there's a lot that could be done with setting a modern GTA game in London, or anywhere outside the US, really. And even if they do continue to stick to American cities, it would be nice to see a new one, like Seattle or Chicago.

Seattle is where inFamous Second Son is set.  Watch Dogs is set in Chicago though, so probably the closest to what you are looking for.

Yeah, Watch Dogs is another I'm looking forward to smile I just think that in general Rockstar could use a little bit of expanding their world. There seems to be a lot of repetition in what gets represented.

Sleeping Dogs is nice and all, and I do love the atmosphere. But even on easy, I struggle with the combat. It seems rather unforgiving, especially given that's the kind of combat it focuses on. I kept on losing on one of the early missions because there were too many guys ganging up. And to be honest, the driving isn't all that great either. Very stiff feeling.

GTA 5 'much faster' than its predecessors

Quote
Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies told Jeuxactu (translated by OXM): "We want to surprise people with very intense missions from the start. The pace of the game is much faster than any of its predecessors.

"From the beginning, we want to show off the new game mechanics while creating intense, action-packed gameplay, to capture the player's attention immediately.

"Remember that the three characters in the game are already living in the city of Los Santos and surrounding areas," Benzies added. "They are not newcomers like Niko and Tommy Vercetti, or people returning after a long absence like CJ.

"They already have contacts, they are integrated with the world and lead a busy life - these characteristics should give players a sense of immediate and total immersion."

Benzies went on to say that GTA 5's three main characters won't all be playable from the outset.

"We want to give the player the opportunity to get to know the three characters individually, and explore the world as each of them, and it would not have been possible if all three had been available from the start."

Earlier this week, Famitsu magazine revealed there'll be 15 species of wild animal in the game, all of which can be hunted, although reasons for hunting them are yet to be disclosed.

Players will also have a pet of their own, a dog named Chop who's customisable with interchangeable collars and other accessories. It will apparently be possible to lose Chop if players are negligent.

CVG have a V.2 of the map,a few decent size corrections, especially at the Alamo Sea and another river running west from there, you can also see that the small Military town Paleto to the north of Mount Chiliad that we saw Franklin(?)parachuting to in the trailer has now been included..and Grapeseed has earned a few more roads about it

I don't know...tear They do this stuff all the time and it seems to be more of a rehash.  I liked GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas(I felt that it was as far as they should've taken it game-play-wise).  And the last one went back to liberty city with a different character.  Roll Eyes I get the feeling that this will do for me what the others have already done. But that's me though.  I'm sure everyone else is gonna have ball. icon_wink

See, that's what I've been trying to explain. They keep going back to cities they've already done when they could spend some time expanding their world, because as it is, it's starting to feel like a small universe syndrome. Aside from Vice City, and San Andreas, they haven't really showcased any other cities. A little variety in choosing cities to tell their stories wouldn't hurt.

The thing is if Rockstar had decided to call them something else, you would not be making this complaint...GTA4's Liberty City or not,it looks nothing like the Liberty City in GTA3,and from what we have seen Los Santos in GTA5 looks worlds apart from the Los Santos we played in GTA:San Andreas

They could have called the city something else in GTA4 or GTA5 and no one would of batted an eyelid they are that different

and they have said that GTA4 and GTA5 does not exist in GTA3,VC and SA universe

Yeah, but they're repetitions all the same, even going back to the original two games. Doesn't matter that they don't concurrently exist, but that they keep doing the same cities with each generation. There are a ton of cities mentioned throughout the games. Why not one of them? Why not give another city a showcase and a chance to be a setting? Kind of like what they did with Vice City.

Not a big surprise, IIRC that's where Sucker Punch lives.
