A Polish website has posted images of what they say are real promotional posters for Grand Theft Auto V. The posters peg the game for a spring 2013 release date for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. We can't verify their authenticity but have asked a Rockstar rep if he will. This post will be updated if he does.
The images bear a European ratings logo on them, so, even if they're real, there's a chance the rest of the world could be getting the game some other season.

But these posters have the benefit of plausibility. GTA V was shown in action to reporters from Game Informer magazine earlier this month. And, from personal experience, I can say that Rockstar tends not to show reporters their games more than six or so months before release. Spring seems like a good time to launch.

So... legit? You decide (or, Rockstar, tell us, please!).

Quite a bit of info has been leaked that was to be revealed in the next few weeks(and which was to be in the December issue of Game Informer)

-You play as Albert DeSilva a half American half Puerto Rican
-He is 42 years old and has an ex-wife and two kids
-The show Breaking Bad has a little influence on the game, as Albert is drawn to the life of crime from an older age for the money
-You also play as Dougie Vejo a younger criminal just coming up in Los Santos
-Los Santos is the only large city, smaller towns round out the countrtyside
-Grove Street makes a return, however Carl and Sweet are not in the game
-Money plays a large part as Albert lost most of his in a ponzi like scheme
-Property buying is back
-The only customization for characters are clothes/hair/facial hair. no gyms or tattoos
-one or more characters from 4 may show up
-car customization is back, seems more fitting for Dougie however Albert may be going through a midlife crisis
-the triumphant return of Lovefist!!! or as the band is now known as the Jezzies
-Songs confirmed so far: My Michelle-Guns and Roses, Magic Power- Triumph, California Dreaming - The beach boys and Beautiful-Snoop Dogg featuring Pharrell
-New mini games include golf, tennis and surfing
-Mission played was called "Alimony" featured the scene from the trailer in which they rob the jewelry store
-Robbery returns only for Dougie, dispensaries are a large source of cash income
-You can switch between Albert and Dougie by holding down the back button(360)
-Game autosaves at that point
-Stinger makes a return

gee lets think, it take a whole two seconds to come up with,  a Dexter like character, a pysco with a creed.  Or a serpico character, or one of a million other interesting types beyond the same old punk who does anything for money. These characters are losers , complete losers and not even interesting ones at that.  I love GTA open world environment, I just think this wanna be 21st century gangsta stuff is so played... sooooo played.

I assume you never played GTA 4?

Truth to be told, Rockstar tends to just recreate the same main character in almost all their games. There's very little difference between the characters in the GTA games, their expansions, and Red Dead Redemption. They're all the silent, coolheaded, easy-to-like, intelligent, old-fashioned, honor-bound type. This is one area where I don't expect Rockstar to change.

What those don't have, but is inherent in the criminal punk scenario and is a key element of the GTA games, is a Rags to Riches set up.  These punks eventually become more powerful with more options and more stuff.

GTA IV may have broken this mold somewhat, as Niko didn't really seem interested in building success (though his cousin did).  But over time, Rockstar has gotten better and better at building emotional, resonant stories with complex characters.  To toss them away with a shrug is to show that you either haven't really played the games, as you have preconceptions about them or that you just aren't interested in the rich story aspect of them, in which case I have to wonder why you care what role you play in a sandbox game.

umm Ive played all these games, and I found the characters to be pretty shallow, boring and with a sameness that now seems to creep from game to game. The environment is what makes these games, its shallow characters are what holds it back IMHO. They are predictable, on rails, quite boring since nothing you do really matters.  For you to say the characters are rich and the story complex is a bit of a stretch

The secondary characters are rich and often complex. The main character is usually just a vessel to present these secondary characters through, which is why they give him the character traits I mentioned above. The character is supposed to convey the player's thoughts were necessary, but not get in the way otherwise. Rockstar follows this so carefully that their main characters get a bit bland in the process.

Mind you, if someone were to play only one or two of these games they'd probably never notice, and would instead laud them for their great leads.
