According to *cough* the front page, GTHD is going to be offered up as a freebie download, ostensibly as a preview of GT5. No timeframe for GT5 release is given.
Weird.

What really trips me up is the "we deliver to everyone as the mini- version", which leads me to believe they will be releasing the core of the game as free, and then be doing the ultimate micropayments to download all the rest of the cars/tracks like they had talked about months ago. Give them one free hit and then charge them out the wazoo for the rest.

You really really should. Most of the time we have more news than any other site, including IGN.

You really really should. Most of the time we have more news than any other site, including IGN. Maybe it's just ADD or something, but I find that without subheadings the column of headlines on the front page just sort of blurs together. For me, it's just too much text in one block without any separators. The only thing that I typically notice on the front page is the featured article at the top, simply because it has both a headline and a subheading describing the article. I only mean this as constructive criticism, different strokes for different folks and all that.

It's free. Oh, and you have personally talked to Sony and they informed you that it would not be coming here? Impressive. I swear, even positive news like this can be turned into a negative by Xbox 360 zealots.

You said it would be available on Dec 24th.
Sony said: "As of today, there are no official announcements for a North American release of GT HD."
Sure it is nice if you live in Japan and have a need to play a demo of GT4 in HD with no online play. Sony cancels a much anticipated game and offers a demo of a game that will never be released to people in Japan only and you call that awesome news. Who is the fanboy here?

Except Sony never said it was for Japan only. That is your GUESS. GUESS does not = FACT. Oh and when the hell did GT HD become a much anticipated game? GT5, yes....but GT HD....uhh no. I never liked the whole buy all the cars and tracks thing.

This really doesn't surprise me. I don't know anyone who liked the proposed business model of GTA HD; for me, the fun of GT 4 was in collecting and driving a ton of different cars. Having to pay for them all would make GTHD kind of a pointless exercise, since there's no way I'd pay for (for example) the used low-end cars that I love driving so much.
