anyone else get theirs?...
if i'm remembering right, this's done by the folks who made daxter, & it shows - if you like kratos (& i know i don't - the idea of playing him in his pre-godhood days was the only thing that made this sound interesting to me), you'll love chains - this's as slick & pretty as psp action games get. the demo's pretty long, & includes 2 mid-boss fights (complete with finishing button-pushing moves), &, as much as i can't stand the guy, i gotta admit it looks to be as well done (on a smaller scale, obviously) as the other 2 games, easily. very impressive...

Haven't received mine yet either but I gather they only started going out in force over the past week or two so I haven't lost hope.
Semi- do you know what firmware it requires?

Guys, he is asking you to go into the XMB and go to the Games section and see which update comes on the disc. It is usually towards the bottom of the part of the XMB for Games.

Well, I didn't register to get the demo, however...
*searches the newsgroups for 15 seconds*
There's the demo. I'll let you all know how it runs via the memory stick in a few. I won't be able to tell you the version requirement however, as I recently (through a 4 step, 4 bios flash sequence) upgraded to 3.72 M33-2.
EDIT: Well, I'll be very blunt - this is God of War on the PSP. The graphics look fantastic (looks just like the first PS2 game), the music drums on just like in the rest of the series, and the gameplay is fully intact. You have about half of a level to play (15 minutes or so), and it's a lot of fun.
I have VERY high hopes for this game. The devs most definitely know how to take advantage of the system.
Random note - as the series is well known to stream data as you advance in the level, this does not hold up well when playing from the memory stick. The frame rate absolutely plummets whenever it has to 'load' up a new area, as the game is trying to stream the music from the memory stick at the same time. I do NOT know if this happens in the 'real' UMD version of the game or not, and somebody else will have to answer that.

Thanks for the firmware info Semi. Looks like I might have to bite the bullet at some point and upgrade to 3.51 hacked since that's what FFT, Logan's Shadow, and CoO all use.

If you know of some place where I can toss a 60MB file, I can send you the combo pack that I modified to help a friend update. Includes everything you need and the engrish is good enough that you should be able to easily follow it.

Got my demo today. Its short but pretty impressive. There's nothing new game play wise but then GoW kicked ass already. Seeing them pretty much bring the full GoW experience to the PSP is pretty cool job by the developers of this game.

I finally got this in the mail. I was very impressed. The roll maneuver takes a little getting used to, but otherwise it felt very much like the PS2 game. I laughed, probably more than I should have when

I'd like to believe that when this gets closer to release (about February 2008 is the current release date), they'll make a downloadable demo available officially.
I'm hoping this'll become a real system seller for PSP even though my heart is more into more strategy-type stuff (actiony stuff is a little clumsy to do well on the PSP's single thumbstick-config but it really just requires devs to give some careful thought to control set ups, optional configurations).
I feel stupid btw. I swear I'm registered at Playstation Underground but apparently it was just for their forums and not as an actual member (and demos like these are the key perks).
