Got my first Xbox 360 game today!

Kameo was just delivered to my house today!

First impressions:

Looks like an Xbox game box, but the green plastic is clear. It also says HDTV 720p on the back....which makes me happy! It also says it has co-op for 2 players, 100KB to save game, content download and leaderboards.

Now, I can stare at a box and read the instruction manual for the next week and 2 days....yay!

Well, it does have that awesome new game smell, maybe a tad bit better than the Xbox games....I don't know I'll need a bit more time with it until I am able to make a final call on the smell test....

As for the manual....well the pages seem to be made of a thicker stock than the normal xbox manuals. It is of course in full color as well and has a nice little diagram of the controller on the back cover with all the important controls mapped out on the back.

Did you know: The START button is used to "Check the Wotnot Book"??

Really, why?  Actually, most of the PS2 games I've purchased lately didn't have that.  The Xbox games usually have a MS security seal on the side, though.

I bought a game at Toys R Us a few weeks ago.  Still in the shrinkwrap but it had a fucking PSM demo in it!  Luckily they gave me no flack in exchanging it.

I guess if it has the other clear top/bottom stickers that would be okay, but those are pretty easy to put back on.  I hate the ones on top, especially on CDs, but I feel better seeing it on there telling me, "I'm new!"

Got my copy as well as a rechargeable battery for my wireless controller, and the media playback remote.  The game has just one stick along the side of the case.  Was easy to remove, leaving no residue.  The new game smell was oh so sweet... I admit I did "fan" myself with the pages of the manual to get the full blast of it.  Very nicely done manual, which I think I will have memorized before the 22nd.  I did not and will not lick the disk, maybe the case tho.

Don't mean to sideline things, but tell me about this recharge unit.  Do you actually have to have that to recharge your controller?  You can't just put a couple double AAs in it and go?

You can use AAs for the controller, yes.  The recharge kit though lets you use a rechargable battery -- I believe you can play while that charges as well?  For the cost of the recharge kit, it'll pay for itself pretty quickly since they say that a controller will last about 30 hours with AAs in it.

Picked up my first XBox 360 game today too!  Amazingly enough I have much the same reaction everyone else has to it, so I won't give impressions.

But I didn't see the recharge kit (which I didn't preorder), since I just went right to the front desk.  Darn it, would've been nice to get that while I was there.  Oh well.

Made the mistake of asking; if Microsoft hadn't cut their alloted shipments, I'd have been part of round one.  If you do not already know this information about your preorder, do not ask.  I was happier thinking that I was always part of shipment two.

Heh this reminds me of when I was in Junior High and I was able to rent a Super Famicom from a gamestore near me at the time. It was before the Super NES was released here. I videotaped myself playing Super Mario World and F-Zero and showed it to my friends.  :lol:

What sucks is, my entertainment system is all black and aluminum with all black and silver peripherals. The 360 is gonna stand out like a sore thumb with all of that. Here's to hoping they make all black cases eventually. The faceplate alone aint gonna make me happy.
