I'm beginning my review.  Uhm...my initial impressions?  OMFG.  This game is mind-bendingly close to the PS2 title.  I haven't gotten to any PSP-throwing level of difficulty moments yet, but I'm sure they are coming. smile

Any specifics you want answered?  (other than how is the camera without a second analog)

If you've got a PSP Slim, I'd be curious how the on-TV graphics look compared to playing the PS2 versions.

How is the save system.  Check points or save anywhere?

Are rolls easy to pull off since they aren't mapped to a second analog anymore?  It never felt quite natural to me based on the CoO demo but the demo wasn't really long enough to get used to it.

Oh and guys, if you didn't get the demo in UMD form, the Playstation Store for the PC was updated with a demo for GoW: CoO Tongue

Same save system.  Hit the glowy thing, save.  It saves near instantly which is an improvement over the PS2.

You hold down both shoulder buttons and thumb the direction you wanna go.  It works very easily.  I was able to take out the first two bosses using rolls and good tactics.  Controls seem to be pretty solid thus far.

The demo is very well done, but I experienced some noticeable slowdown in several areas, especially when there were several enemies on the screen. Considering that this is running from flash memory, I'm wondering how a UMD will fare. Other than that one small gripe, it is definitely a highly polished title.

I saw this mentioned at GAF- while I haven't played the downloadable demo , I did play the UMD demo from several months ago and there really weren't any notable framerate drops.  Considering that the reviews have commented how smooth it is, I think something is borked in the downloadable demo (perhaps it's not enabling 333 Mhz like it should?).

I'm several hours in now.  The game is absolutely smooth.  I've seen one frame drop area inside a stairwell with no enemies thus far.

As for how it looks on the TV, I'm playing it on my HDTV and it looks really great.  It's essentially a PS2 game quality.

The only thing making it hard for me is trying to evade. I'm getting better at it, but using the triggers plus analog stick is slightly counterintuitive. Damn Sony for not making a 2nd analog stick. This should be their first adjustment to the PSP2.

And I'm glad to see people are reporting that the UMD has significantly less slowdown than the flash demo. That had me worried.

I always found using the second stick just for dodging as a bit counter intuitive.  The left stick is for all movement, but for some reason to dodge you have to take your hands off the buttons to flick the second stick in a different direction.

I usually found that with the game's split second timing, the time it took me to move my thumb from the attack button and flick it in a direction, I'd get hit.

Sweet, don't think I'll have time to play this anytime soon, but I'll grab it down the road.  Maybe for the trip to Dallas if I go to A-kon this year.

Good deal, I'm pumped!

I should also mention that you need to edit the last sentence of your review to reflect the current year...and quickly, since your review is probably being discussed by many game sites right now.
