The only games my wife will play on our PC are Bejeweled and Bookworm. That's it.
On the PS2 she loves the SSX series, Baldur's Gate (PS2 version) and Katamari Damacy.

During my first marriage, my ex-wife was addicted to the 7up Spot game on Sega Genesis. She also loved Tetris.
Get one of those games that make her think.......like the others mentioned.

Tomb Raider(around 3 or 4). I used that to get a girl into gaming. Yeah she rolled her eyes at Lara's body, but she was fascinated by the exploring/puzzle solving and she liked the idea that the main character was female.

My wife likes the popcap games. Most of my games maker her dizzy due to not being 2D. The only one of my games she has really played and been interested in was Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2.
Though she also likes old school Atari, NES and SNES. On MAME she'll play Tapper and Mrs Pacman, etc.

Get a DS, and Mario 64 mini games, then you will never see the DS again. My wife, mother and sister were all hooked.

My wife loves CSI and Taiko Drum Master. With CSI its very low-action paced so she doesn't have to be a twitch gamer. With Taiko, she can play along and get better and we can all have a laugh.  |

My friend's wife is "teh uber" when it comes to FPS games. I couldn't tell you why. It all depends on the girl. She also loves Civ type games. Had a GF who liked Myst types too. She liked the stories and such. You could always ask her to try some with you. That might be too easy, though.  |

Really depends. A good friend of me plays/played WarCraft3, Kotor, Myth(or was it Myst? The impressive graphics adventure?), Monkey Island, Sedlers. Now she writes Flashgames for a Webagenture |

Biggest mistake recently for me was introducing my wife to EQ2. The result of this is MY PC is not longer mine, its a community PC. Bad bad mojo, be careful what you ask for... you might get it.

The Longest Journey is the only PC game my wife has ever really wanted to play. We finished it together. The Sims (1 and 2) got her somewhat interested.

Neverwinter Nights. I got my wife to play this with me co-op and she loved it. A friend at work said his wife would never play games on the computer so I suggested trying NWN and now he wakes up in the middle of the night and finds his wife playing the game without him.

The Longest Journey, and Syberia (1 and 2) were both hits for my wife. Also, Black and White was a favorite -- not the game, she enjoyed collecting all of the animals around the island and putting them into a pen. She was quite upset when she found that the animals could walk right through the walls of the pen, but she kept playing anyway until the game crashed and she couldn't continue.
(edit -- oh yeah, heed Attadude's warning. I'm a firm believer in the "it's OK if she doesn't like games" camp, because we've only got the one PC and I didn't enjoy sharing it much when Black and White came out)
