This news has pissed me off since I was originally going to get 3 copies so my fiance and Dad can go ghostbusting. But I guess that is not going to happen anymore.

I would, but my Dad doesn't do console games so, no, that wouldn't work well.

Unfortunately, the game doesn't have co-op period, as multiplayer is only a verses type thingy.

I know but from what I understood originally there were some different game modes that were co-op like. Kind of like Left 4 Dead in a sense. Whereas the Wii was the only version that had full 2 play campaign co-op. But not having any multiplayer on the PC version is just inexcusable in my eyes, on top of it being just plain weird. Why would you have online and so forth with the 360 and PS3 but not have anything for the PC version. Also why did they take down Ghostbusters from Steam? It just seems to weird and counter to everything they have been saying about the game.

It seems I'm the only one that is kind of pissed about this around here.

We're still talking about the PC version only, right? Or are the 360/PS3 versions also 'hosed'?

The 360/PS3 versions have some sort of multiplayer mode in them (not sure of the specifics offhand), but the game was designed as a single-player 'experience'. There is no co-op in it, period.

Although based on SkyLander, the Wii version does? Now I'm confused.

But yes, having no multiplayer options period in the PC version is really weird. What's stranger is that I hear there's online activation required for it. Go figure.

The back of the XBox360 box lists "Co-op 2-4" as one of the features.

From what I originally understood anyway was that there is the full single-player game can be done split screen coop on the Wii. Whereas all the other systems had 2-4 player multiplayer game modes where some were VS. type things with people being ghosts and other people being ghostbusters and some co-op like mods with 4 player coop kind of like Left 4 Dead in a sense.

I think the PS3 and 360 still have those modes but the PC version got fucked for some weird reason.

Okay, I'm now totally confused, and as such I'll just step out of the discussion for now.  retard

For what it's worth, the PC versions suggested price is only $29 compared to $59 for consoles.  MP would be nice, but at least they've priced it right for the difference.

I'm waiting to see how the reviews are on this.  I know I won't play MP, but I don't want there to be some kind of horrible technical flaws.  It's also on Steam, so I may wait and see if it gets put on sale.

Here's some tech demo footage of the game running on a Intel Core 2 3.2GHz & GTX 280.

The $30 price point is pretty fucking tempting.

Honestly, I wouldn't play the multi anyway.

The gamespot review basically says 'if you like ghostbusters, just buy it. it's good.'

I just hit purchase... so tempting I didn't finish this post.

I'm assuming the textures and so forth would look more like the xbox's than the PS3s, on the PC?

It looks pretty damn good on my PC.

PS3s textures are horrid, since apparently it is all rendered at 540p so they are fuzzy and blurry compared to the Xbox's.

Oh, no, definitely nothing like that going on...

The only graphical 'huh?' I had was that the actual cutscenes have weird blur in weird places, but it seems more like a strange application of filters, or maybe an actual movie file that is lower res than what I'm getting on screen, which is 1680x1050 and quite sharp.  It could use some extra anisotropic filtering, I guess, but the proton packs and ghosts and characters look sweet... like in the 360 screenshots I just looked at.
