GH2 Leaderboard Challenge! Bring it!

Why don't we get a list of folks playing GH2 so we can compare scores?  I have some of you on my friends list, but others not so much.  Post your gamertag, and I'll make an attempt to keep things consolidated.

I know there's an XBL tag list already, but hopefully this will consolidate those on GH2.

I've only played the game once, and I quickly learned that regardless of how good I think I am on Easy, Medium crushed me without mercy.  Needless to say, I need a little practice.  But, fear not, I will be bringing it.

Took a break from my Tiger Woods review, with a 7 month old on my lap, (Really, Ron, I did!) and got through the first batch of songs, with a 7 month old on my lap.

Doesn't the game keep track of friends?

Of course, it does, but I know I haven't been keeping my friends list updated, so there's a ton of people on the boards that I'd like to see on the leaderboards.  This is just a way to sort out the people playing GH2 and send out invites.

Yeah this was over for me before it ever even started. I'm lucky to finish most songs on hard. Don't have a chance in hell at ever finishing expert or competing with those that do.

While they don't have separate leaderboards for the different difficulties, your score does show what difficulty you earned it, so you can still compete at the difficulty you're comfortable with; it's all just for fun anyway.

And don't sell yourself short; when I first tried out Hard, I thought there was no way I'd ever be able to try Expert, and now Expert is my standard difficulty!

I'm pretty happy with my standings after a few hours of shaking the rust off, with me being in the top 5 of my friends list on most of the songs I played last night.  Of course, I'll definitely be moving up as I get back into regular playing.  I know I can do much, much better on Message in a Bottle than I did.

there's a reason that there is a separate achievement for beating Jordan on Expert

I'm going through one song at a time, trying to five-star everything.  Finished Easy and now about halfway through Medium.  Getting harder to five-star stuff but not impossible yet.  I anticipate this plan to fall apart around the first song on Hard

Add me to the easy/medium group as I struggle to rock.  I'm loving the game but like many others I don't see the hard/expert level to be something I'll be getting into anytime soon.  Right now I'm jumping between easy and medium and I only have one 5 star rating in medium and no idea how I managed that.  Still haven't gotten the 100k pt achievement so you can be assured I'll hang out in the bottom of the lists.

Yeah, I have no trash to talk.  I actually haven't even glanced at the Leaderboards out of pure fear and intimidation.  At least for now my scores will only serve as a confidence boost for others.  But one of the things I love about this game is that yes, it is rather difficult to play, but the gameplay is so rewarding and fun that I don't mind putting in practice time to improve.  Some games are so frustratingly difficult that they aren't at all fun to play.  But Guitar Hero II may be difficult, but it is fun as hell, and I can already see myself improving with every additional song I play.  So in time I may find my name up there with the elite.  But for now I'll have to be content with simply learning how not to accidentally bump the strum bar during long notes when I get a little carried away with the whammy bar.

Man all this talk of people sucking is making want to play as I'm good through Mediocre (at least in GH1) but bad beyond that....

Well I'm coming up against the brick wall of GH2 for me   In GH1 the only main songs I never beat were Bark at the Moon and Cowboys from Hell on Expert.  This game is stopping me so far at Crazy on You on Expert.  I can beat some of the other songs in that set, but not that one.

Don't worry.  Keep at it and you'll get past it.  If you can get past the acoustic intro, the rest isn't so bad.
