Gears of War/Multiplayer N00bz Look Here/Link to Friday Night Game!

Hi everyone, I'm ATB: an avid Single Player gamer of average skill.  I would like to invite my fellow SP gamers into a GOW MP game Saturday night at around 10 PM EST.

My ideal players would be those with limited or no experience playing GOW multiplayer (I'm not looking for someone who has the maps memorized or is just looking to increase their frag count) or multiplayer at all. Other than some coop Smash TV, I've not done any multiplayer gaming at all...ever with the exception of one game of C&C with a friend over 56k...12 or so years ago.

Let me know if you're interested either in this thread or over PM. I guess I need 3 players. (I should probably read the manual on how to do this ).

My plan is to cut my teeth and then jump in with the rest of the veteran GT crew at sometime in the future.

I know this should probably be in the MP forum, but if my target audience is like me, then they probably never go in there. Move if you must mods.

Just got a 360 Tuesday and I am halfway through GoW.  I have not tried MP yet so i will give it a shot if I remember.  Gamertag = Forcebane

I am a multiplayer virgin, though I have cut my teeth on the co-op campaign with a couple friends. 

I think it's a very good chance that I can play then - I am going out Saturday night but ought to be back by then...

I've done the MP coop, but no versus.   Saturday is bad for me.  Sunday might be better

The earliest I could make it on Saturday night would be 11:00 EST.   Note, I've played some multiplayer with the GT crew but I end up at the bottom of the "score" list. 

You should try to get 7 others into the game.   4 per team.    There aren't any bots in GoW.

I might be on earlier if I can finish up what I have to do around the house sooner.  But whenever I think I can make an earlier match, I almost never make it because something almost always comes up.

I got pwned more than I pwned- especially in the 4x4, but I began to pick it up quickly.

2x2 was a hoot too. Lotsa killin.  Pete and Jance are a great team.

Tip:  Shotgun>Chainsaw in most close quarters situations unless I'm the one with the shotgun

Not too surprising that you had problems early on, most of us have played quite a bit.  Although several of us were experiencing the difficulties inherent in playing two different games close together.  Especially the cover system differences between Gears and R6.

All in all it was good fun.  After Moriarty left I realized I was too tired to keep playing and have fun.  Good chance I'll be on tonight.

+1.  I kept on pulling the left trigger expecting to take cover, and hitting B to throw grenades.  Not to mention the pain of trying to actually connect to the game.  I had no issue connecting to other games when connected through my router, but connecting via the invites was not working.
