We are going to do what so many other sites SHOULD do - let the public decide what is the best Nintendo DS title of the year. I'd like everyone to post their top 5 in this thread. We'll cut that list down and create polls to declare our winners. This isn't a time to argue about anyone elses choice, so if you think Hannah Montana is your GOTY for this platform, just toss it in here. We'll laugh, but that is your vote.

Nintendogs gets my vote. It didn't win me over personally, but it captured my son's attention for quite a long time and to date is the most played game in our house on the DS.

Gotta go with Final Fantasy III & Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Animal Crossing came out last year... didn't it?

Gotta go with IGN's DS GotY: ELITE BEAT AGENTS
EBA is not simply my DS GotY, but my overall GotY
Runner-Up Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
There are other games I like, but nothing else comes close to those two, IMO.

1. The New Super Mario Brothers 2. Yoshi's Island DS (which could wind up being #1 by the time I've completed it) 3. Final Fantasy III 4. Tetris DS 5. Mario & Luigi: Partner's in Time (I know this was released the last week of November 2005 but I didn't start playing it until January of this year)

Yes, as did Nintendogs. Hmm. Maybe one of the newer editions of it then. Didn't they release some new dogs or something this year?

Yes, as did Nintendogs. Hmm. Maybe one of the newer editions of it then. Didn't they release some new dogs or something this year? They did the best friends and Dalmatian, but neither actually added new breeds to the game. There are some 2005 titles I'd love to vote for too, such as Phoenix Wright.

Yoshi's Island DS
Lots of other potential choices that I haven't logged enough time with to state definitively.

I'll vote for New Super Mario.
If I was forced to vote based on the game I played the most, I'd have to vote for Sudoku Gridmaster, which apalls me since I think it's very mediocre (especially compared to the sudoku in Brain Age). But, I play SG so much, that I have placed an embargo on any new portable games - in fact, I wouldn't even allow myself to ASK for any portable games for X-mas because I have so much unplayed GBA/DS games. (Advanced Wars, Tales of Phantasia unopened, FFIV barely started, Bionic Commando not yet conquered, Yoshi's Island, argh!)

The one I've probably played and enjoyed the most, hence the vote, is Clubhouse Games.

Had I picked it up, I think Dragon Quest Rocket Slime would have placed as well.

Another vote for Elite Beat Agents.
There were a lot of really good games for the DS this past year, but EBA stands tall above them all...
