I know we talked about this in a thread previously and many of us had issues with their accuracy or inclusiveness and other things, but I like their charts and think they are at least a relatively good listing of announced exclusives. This chart tells me the obvious-Microsoft is perhaps continuing to cement their leadership in the two-console "next gen" race, while Nintendo continues their tradition of very strong first party exclusives and features a host of different, market specific type games.

Exclusive doesn't always mean good. slywink

Pretty decent list Calvin.  Reminds me that I need to make a sweep of our release dates again...

What impact does Microsoft having a one year lead have?  Is that factored into the list?

That the 360 has more exclusives doesn't mean too much considering it's been out a year longer than the other consoles. It would only be important if they had less exclusives.

According to a post at Qt3, if you take into account the amount of time each console has been out, the 360 is averaging 5 exclusives announced a month, the PS3 8 per month, and the Wii 12 per month.

I know that a lot of people say that you have to weigh exclusives as one of the most important factors when buying a console, but does anyone else not pay that much attention to them?

Exclusives for franchises/titles that matter to me are the "heaviest" factor in my console purchasing decisions. A close second is library diversity. Other factors run up behind those two.

It's certainly going to effect some games on the list- I would expect first year 360 titles like Over G Fighters and Top Spin 2 would likely have been multiplatform if other platforms had existed at the time.

Now you're making me wonder what Rockstar's Table Tennis might have been like on the Wii.

"Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier"
Anyone hear anything about this one?  The article says the list contains only announced games, but I've never heard mention of a continuation of the series.

I don't -  the whole exclusives thing as a barometer of console success is greatly overrated.  Granted, I usually end up owning all the consoles eventually *anyway*, but look at the GC, for example - it had a buttload of excellent exclusives.  Still came in last.

It did?

After the first year it seemed like Nintendo was doing well to release a good exclusive every 6 months.
