I have to agree.  That would probably be my #1 as well!

Hmmm, I've only played 3 of the top 10.  4 if you count the 5 minutes I spent on the Space Rangers demo.

Of the games I've played, I'd easily rank #10 above #7 and I'd rank both above the demo for #1.

Not impressed with that list, at all.  I don't think I agree with a single item on it.

Well THAT'S a shocker!

- . - . - . -

I think the list by and large is pretty good.  But no sports games!?!?!  I'm hurt.

 :slywink:  (I know, it's a PC list.)

Never played Company of Heroes so I can't complain about it snagging the top spot. Then again, I'm so burned out on both RTS games and WWII games that the combination makes me run screaming from the room.

WWII games are dead to me as well, that could be one of the reasons (Among many) why Company of Heroes fell flat here.  Great presentation and execution on it, but definately not GoTY material IMO.

1701 A.D. beats the pants off it imo, both in presentation and execution, and in polish and replayability.

It's nice to see Guildwars:Nightfall get mentioned too.  I'm not completely sure it's an MMO (although, I have no idea how MMO is classified, so perhaps it is), but the game itself is very well done, and I'm really glad it got recognized.

And, I've been a fan of Relic from the beginning, so seeing them get mentioned is also fantastic!

I think CoH is a good choice for GoTY. Still, I would have picked Oblivion for my GoTY.

Of the listed games, the only one's I played at all were Lego Star Wars and Oblivion, both on the 360.  I didn't play a single game from that list on the PC.

I think it's cool that Dreamfall got Adventure Game of the Year.  It's a fair criticism to say that the stealth and combat portions of the game are clumsy and actually detract from the overall package, but it's still an uncommonly well told story.  If anything, the biggest problem is that I started Dreamfall immediately after finishing The Longest Journey, and seeing how awful everything had gotten in both Stark and Arcadia was really depressing  crybaby

CoH #1? Up against Oblivion, no way. Does it deserve a top 10 spot? Heck yes. But it's no #1.

Nice to see Space Rangers 2 on that list. It really is a fantastic turn-based/RTS/text adventure/shooter/economic simulation/whatever game. And yes, the game really does have all of that in it, for those who aren't in the know.  icon_biggrin

Totally agree with CoH at number one.

If they could have awarded it anymore awards than they did it would have deserved every single one.

Most definately not COH. I played a few more games tonight, and not only is the AI broke, but it is flat out retarded.  Any game with anemic AI gets lower scores from me.  Any game with broken AI, gets a failing grade.

While I didn't care that much for Oblivion, I would rate it far above COH if given the choice.
