If this is posted in the wrong place, please move it.

Not sure how much this means. But if you go to the Gamespot PSP section, no games are listed under reviews, and their bottom section which is the top games for that system (IIRC, decided by user hits) is also blank.

However the PSP has a full page background ad for Radiant Mythology. All fine and dandy. But the one game to show up for todays most popular game is Radiant Mythology, even though all the blanks are empty. So is Gamespot selling that top spot? If that's the case, I just lost a lot of respect for them.

I think the "Most popular" box is just skinned with the Radiant Mythology art.  None of the other categories have the name of the game in the "Most popular" box itself.

Wow, 5 ads for the same game on one page.  That's some sort of awesome synergy.

What ads?

*turns off adblock*

Oh yeah. biggrin

Anyway... I'm agreeing with EddieA here, as upon looking at the site without ads on, the 'most popular PSP' window itself (the entire image including the game and the words) does NOT show up. I can see the 'Overall, Available Now, etc' buttons showing up, but my adblock considers the image an ad (more than likely based on where Gamespot saves their ad files).

Rough translation - the words are just overlayed on whatever ad they usually have in that box. It has nothing to do with Gamespot being sellouts and calling that game 'the most popular PSP' title there.

Hmm ok, cool, as one of my trusted sites, I hope you guys are right.

I guess let this thread die a quick death. Well after this bump of course.

You realize you just guaranteed this post would go ten pages, right?

I remember the same thing happened one time where they had a ton of 360 ads placed like that...  on the PS3 page.

LOL, I remember that.  That one was classic: talk about a smart move by MS.

That only lasted a few hours, but I had a good laugh at that one.
