Bioshock - 360
Kameo - 360

Yay first page! Apparently being unemployed a couple months is good for my backlog.  icon_confused icon_neutral

Finished:
GC - Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (x1) Jan 08 - Ironically I finished this exactly a year after my original Cube crapped out on me stopping my progress then. Restarted around Dec 10th and completed it today.
PS2 - Jak & Daxter (x1) Jan 08 - Damn this game was annoying at times. The sequels better be more enjoyable. Apparently so according to my bro...
GBA - Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls - FF2 (x1) Jan 08 - Took long enough for this to happen...
XBX - Far Cry Instincts: Evolution (x1) Jan 08 - Decent, but the first one was better.
PS2 - Jak 2 (x1) Feb 08 - Better than J&D but still too much annoying platforming for me anymore.
PS2 - Jak 3 (x1) Feb 08 - A much better and tighter game than the first two.
PC - Half-Life 2 (x3) Feb 08 - Favorite parts are still the city/squad stuff.
PC - Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil (x1) Feb 08 - Better than the original Doom 3. More/even action and less monster closets...
PS2 - Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (x1) Feb 08 - Fun solid shooter platformer. Enjoy these more than the Jak games. Much less collection and more action.
360 - Gears of War (x1) Feb 08 - Decent play though, but didn't get the hype. Entertaining but not OMG awesome. Would play again probably. Yes for #2.
PS2 - Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (x1) March 08 - Once again, good solid game. Insomniac gets the general idea of a good game experience. Few complaints.
PS2 - Ratchet: Deadlocked (x1) March 08 - Definitely the weakest one. Played through on Easy for story. Was quick and humorous so not a total loss of time.
X360 - Crackdown (x1) March 08 - Pretty decent game. No I didn't get all achievements yet, but I feel like I'm done with it for now. Nice sandbox feel.
PS2 - Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (x1) April 08 - Decent game behind all the crappy porting. Bad POV gives headaches, sloppy camera, mediocre graphics.
PC - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl (x1) April 08 - Awesome. Quirky designs and bugs included. Have capable PC and like FPS? Get it.
X360 - Halo 3 (x2) April 08 - Fun. Decent end to the trilogy. Not orgasmically awesome, but always fun nonetheless.
PC - Half-Life 2: Episode 1 (x1) April 08 - Fun. Good addition to HL series. Some different game mechanics. Don't like episodic style, rather have full game after a break.
X360 - Perfect Dark Zero (x1) April 08 - Can tell was first gen. Was a couple glitches apparent. OK, not great. Liked the music.
PS2 - God of War 2 (x1) May 08 - Fun with lots of action. Fixed a lot of platforming irritations from first game. Still a little glitchy.
X360 - Mass Effect (x1) May 08 - Good Bioware game. Minor annoyances, unbalanced, Mako driving wonky. Solid game and awaiting news of sequels.
PS2 - God of War 2 (x2) June 08 - Played through on normal this time. Same as above. Still had glitches.
X360 - The Darkness (x1) Dec 08 - Fun twisted action. Liked some of the music and some decent voice acting. Underrated.
PC - F.E.A.R. Extraction Point (x1) Dec 08 - More of the same of FEAR. Fun but I wanted it to get over before it was done.
PS3 - Resistance: Fall of Man (x1) Dec 08 - Decent fun. Played through single player, not sure if Coop is different/better. Could play it again in a while.
PC - Prey (x1) Dec 08 - Should have done this one long ago. Decently fun game. Right length. Over when I wanted it to be.

Playing:
GBA - Final Fantasy V - Slogging through it slowly.
PSP/PSX - Final Fantasy 7 (for the first time hopefully through... Don't beat me!) Digging it on the PSP.

Reserving a space, hopefully I can push through more than 9 this year. (Seeing as I canceled my WoW account in December, this shouldn't be a huge problem.)

Finished:
Super Mario Galaxy (Wheee, one completed game!)
Sins of a Solar Empire Beta
GalCiv II: Twilight of the Arnor Beta

Playing:
GalCiv II: Twilight of the Arnor
Sins of a Solar Empire
Team Fortress 2
Sword of the Stars: A Murder of Crows
Space Rangers 2
Fallout 3
Navy Field

Started:
Ninja Gaiden: Black
God of War
Forza 2
Titan Quest + Expansion
Supreme Commander

Notable games in my backlog:
Company of Heroes
God of War 2
Shadow of the Colossus
STALKER

Oldest game still in my backlog that I actually want to play: Septerra Core.

Oldest game in my backlog (that I don't really want to play): Iron Helix.

Update: Well, this year has not been kind to completing games for me. I got back into Warhammer, and that sucked up most of my free time from Jan to Aug. Then I went back to school for Electrical Engineering, and that just demolished my free time, so I have only finished one game... and started 5. And also realized that most 4x games and multiplayer FPS games are really, really hard to actually finish.

Final Update: Unfortunately, only 3 games "finished" and 2 of them because the betas ended and the release versions are on my 'now playing list'.

FINISHED IN 2008
-  Rock Band - Feb 1'ish - A (I'm going to consider this completed, as I've beaten every guitar & drum song at least on Hard)
-  Final Fantasy VII:  Crisis Core - April 13 B+
-  Final Fantasy Tactics:  War of the Lions - May 4 A++++
-  Bioshock - May 27 - A- (would have been an A, but the ending stunk)
-  Planescape:  Torment - June 19 - A+ (not an A+ in the world that describes how good it was)
-  Penny Arcade:  On the Rain Soaked Precipice of Darkness - June 22 - C+ (felt really short for the $20 price tag)
-  Civilization Revolution - June 19 - B (excellent PC to console conversion.  Will have a ton of replay value)
-  Jade Empire - July 24 - A- (second time was the charm with this one, much better on PC than XBox)
-  Fable II - November 1 - B (solid but unspectacular)
-  Rock Band 2 - November 16 - B+ (fun, but I'm getting a bit burned out on the genre)
-  Jewel Quest II - November 20 - B+ (normally wouldn't include iPhone games, but this one was a blast and I spent quite a few hours with it)
-  Titan Quest - December 2 - B (good take on the Diablo formula, but it gets pretty repetitive towards the end.  Crappy ending, as usual.)

CURRENTLY PLAYING
-  King's Bounty

PLAYED AND DISCARDED
-  Lost Odyssey (360)
-  Patapon (PSP)
-  Etrian Odyssey (DS)
-  God of War:  Chains of Olympus (PSP)

I finished 14 full-length games that I hadn't played before from the time I started keeping track in 2007.  Hoping to beat that this year.  I'm going to drop off my whole "on-hiatus" list because it is getting long and I want to try to stop dropping games as much as I have.  If I'm not going finish it, I'll try to get rid of it.  Hopefully some of those games will end up being finished anyway.

About the Teggy 10 point scale: This is not a perfect scale where 5 is average, but I try not to weigh it too heavily toward the high end.  A "10" is a perfect game and its doubtful you'll ever see one - I didn't have any 10s last year.  8s and 9s are games I enjoyed a lot, but there were some features I felt weren't perfect. 6s and 7s, we're talking average.  Below 6 is a failing grade.  Bottom line, 8 is still a really good game in my eyes.  "Completed" means viewed credits.

Completed in 2008
Tomb Raider: Legend (X360) - completed 1/5 - 8 out of 10
Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) - completed 1/19 - 9 out of 10
Crackdown (X360) - completed 2/10 - 8 out of 10
Call of Duty 2 (X360) - completed 2/17 - 8 out of 10 -
Kameo: Elements of Power (X360) - completed 3/5 - 6 out of 10
Half Life 2 (X360) - completed 3/25 - 9 out of 10
Portal (X360) - completed 3/26 - 9 out of 10
Half Life 2: Episode 1 (X360) - completed 3/27 - 8 out of 10
Half Life 2: Episode 2 (X360) - completed 3/27 - 8 out of 10
Call of Duty 4 (X360) - completed 4/9 - 8 out of 10 (single player)
SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo (PSP) - completed 4/12 - 7 out of 10

Finished 21 games last year, down from 36 in 2006. I blame that on several being long-ass RPGs like FFXII and Dark Cloud 2 which took three months each to complete. I have none of that silliness on the radar for this year so here we go:

Call of Duty 4 (PC)
F.E.A.R. Extraction Point (PC)
Crysis (PC)
Bioshock (PC)
Crackdown (Xbox 360)
Dead Rising (Xbox 360)
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Xbox 360)
Stranglehold (Xbox 360)
Portal (Xbox 360)
Prey (PC)
Call of Duty 2 (PC)
Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360)
Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360)
LEGO Indiana Jones (Xbox 360)
Half-Life 2 (The Orange Box) (Xbox 360)
Half-Life 2: Episode 1 (The Orange Box) (Xbox 360)
Half-Life 2: Episode 2 (The Orange Box) (Xbox 360)
Bully: Scholarship Edition (Xbox 360)
Mercenaries 2 (Xbox 360)

Final Fantasy IV (GBA, Japanese)
Pokemon Pearl (DS)
Pokemon Emerald (GBA)
Pokemon Ranger (DS)
Hinterland (PC)
World of Goo (Wii)

January
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

Sort of lost my focus with this one...got to a really, really difficult mission.  Finally plowed through it and completed it.  Provides a wonderful story that follows Big Boss' legacy.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

I really enjoyed my time with this one.  It looked gorgeous, and it was downright FUN to play.

Resistance: Fall of Man

This was INCREDIBLY fun to play co-op with depward.  I tried the campaign single-player and it was really tough and not really engaging.  My run-through with my twin brother, though, was really fun!  The pacing was perfect with another player.  The levels kept getting better and better.

No More Heroes

One of the most memorable, creative and fun games I've ever played.  I see myself pulling it out to complete it a few more times.

February
Devil May Cry 3

Got to about level 8 in normal mode...then I died a second or third time to unlock easy and went back and beat it in easy mode.  I liked it, it was stylish action through-and-through, and I loved the styles that I experimented with.

April
Call of Duty 4

Played it on and off for awhile after finding myself frustrated with the same issues experienced in Call of Duty 2.  Doubt I'll play it again on a harder difficulty, it was hard enough on regular.  The epilogue was the best part of the game.

June
Okami

Finally, since I had a little time before the girlfriend comes home for the summer and before MGS4 hits, I decided to plow through Okami.  And yeah, it's been a year, but still, one of my most favorite gaming experiences.  There was a big no-no in the ending sequence (you know what I mean if you've completed it), but the game has so much love, you could tell the passion Clover poured into Okami.  Bravo.

End game stats:

Play Time 39hr, 33min, 25sec (probably more close to 38 hours)
Days Passed 55
Saves 142
Deaths 0
Enemies Defeated 514
Money Gained 3,252,898
Demon Fangs Found 145
Praise Earned 3021

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Woooow.  Favorite game ever?  There were so many mind-blowing moments, the cinematics was brilliant and the gameplay was some of the series' best.  Add in the addictive MGO and you've got a GOTY that's probably my favorite game of all time.

End game stats (1st playthrough, going for no-kill next):

Total Play Time: 15:31:27
Continues: 0
Alert Phases: 46
Kills: 211
Recovery Items Used: 26
Weapon Types Procured: 37
Flashbacks Watched: 197
Special Items Used: 0

Rest of the Year

LittleBigPlanet - AMAZING
Resistance 2 - Hmmm.

Finished in 2008:
  • Super Paper Mario - Wii - Nice jaunt, brilliant and clever game, but with the low replay value I just rented it for ~3 weeks from Gamefly and played through. I hope they go for another with this style of gameplay!
  • Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker - DS - Quite fun for a DQ addict who enjoys monster breeding/synthesis, skill customizing, and battling. Not near the caliber of a "real" DQ game, but a nice appetizer to hold me over until hopefully one of the main franchise DS entries shows up later this year. Not much replay value, it's trading in towards Lost Odyssey. icon_wink
  • Rock Band - 360 - Conquered Green Grass and High Tides on expert mode finally!
  • Dragon Quest Swords - Wii - Relatively short, but a lot more fun than I expected it would be based on previews. Very nice production values, to boot! It makes a great rental, but not really a keeper for me.
  • Super Mario Galaxy - Wii - Wow, best platformer since Banjo Kazooie, and possibly even better overall! Genuine evolution from the tried-and-true Mario 64 / Banjo game design. This is the game I wanted when we got Mario Sunshine instead!
  • Hellgate: London - PC - Well, been working on it off and on for ages anyway (mostly off for the last few months), and the recent death of Flagship prompted me to race to the finish in case my MP character is wiped, so I don't have to replay everything just to beat the game. icon_wink I'll play it again someday, it's fun, but it's very flawed in many ways.
  • Etrian Odyssey - DS - Awesome game, very very fun! I look forward to delving into the sequel eventually.
  • Portal - PC - Very original, creative, and mind-bendingly fun. Despite the complaints about the game being short that I've heard, I felt it was just right.
  • Half-Life 2 - PC - I tried again to play it, this time forcing myself to get through the sewers and see if the game really did get better. Fortunately, it did, and what a heck of a ride it was! Hated the very ending, because I want to know what happens next! icon_razz
  • Half-Life 2: Episode One - PC - Holy crap! I just couldn't put it down. Outstanding, even tighter design than the core game, though sadly without any of the fun vehicle sequences. Wow. Very impressed, and I'm going to take a break for a bit and then come back for Episode Two. If anything, I'm afraid to play through that because I won't be able to jump right into Episode Three when I finish it!
  • Half-Life 2: Episode Two - PC - Damn... we gotta get Episode Three and the conclusion to this story asap!
  • Final Fantasy IV - DS - Utterly fantastic remake of a great game. The allegedly unfair difficulty is overrated; if you play the game the "old fashioned" way especially in the late game, saving after nasty encounters even if it means a little backtracking, it's pretty approachable. This is the definitive edition of FFIV. icon_biggrin
  • Fable 2 - 360 - Totally hooked me, a complete joy to play from start to finish! I will actually replay this at least once as evil, and possibly a third time just to get the third ending.
  • Fallout 3 - PC - Wow, I loved it, this is the first Bethesda game where the main quest was so compelling that I set aside the exploration after only a short while and pursued that. biggrin Now I'm restarting with another character and doing the rest of the stuff. Awesome, awesome game.
  • Rock Band 2 - 360 - This one is complete by the same standards I've used for the previous guitar music games, I'm now the Lord of the Strings! icon_wink

Playing Currently:
  • Sacred 2 - PC - This is the game the original should've been.
  • Persona 3 FES - PS2 - Awesome! Quirky, very Japanese (hard to explain), and definitely lives up to what I hoped for from the game after reading reviews and player impressions.
  • Dragon Quest 4 - DS

Games Finished:

PS3 - Resistance - January 23 - co-op w/ TML - great launch-title FPS, really looking forward to R2

PS3 - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - January 26 - fantastic game

Wii - Super Mario Galaxy - Jan. 27 - wonderful, excellent game, loved all of it, def. one of my all-time favs

Wii - No More Heroes - February 6 - such a fun, fun game to play - second best game on the Wii system

PS3 - Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - February 20 - my first Ratchet game!  VERY fun, graphics were incredible, one of the best for the PS3.

Wii - Bubble Bobble - NES Virtual Console - March 8 - played co-op with TML.  Bubble Bobble is one of our all-time favorite games.  So, so awesome...

PS2 - Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - March 16 - what a fun, fun ride.  Nevermind the story was sorta confusing... but it was thoroughly entertaining.  Loved it, can't wait to play the others.  One of my top 10 for sure...

Wii - Super Smash Bros Brawl - May 11 - finished up the Subspace Emissary mode today & unlocked all playable characters.  This game SHOULD be the end-all, be-all Smash game... but the online is so fubar!  If they had added some stat tracking for online play & smoothed out matchmaking for anonymous matches, I would be playing it exclusively.  It's still fun to play with friends, like Melee was.

PSP - N+ - very fun on a portable machine.  Addictive as heck - loved it all (even the stages I played more than 100+ times to beat  icon_biggrin)

I don't think I've ever participated in one of these threads, probably because it takes me forever to get around to actually finishing a game.  My interest varries, so I have never been able to play a game straight through from start to finish (unlike one of my friends who purchased and completed COD4 in the same day  icon_eek).

In 2007 I finally completed God of War.  I also finished Guitar Hero II.  That was it.   icon_redface

But 2008 is a new year and one of my "resolutions" is to complete some of my backlog.  So far this year I've completed:

Xbox 360
Portal
Assassin's Creed
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix
The Bourne Conspiracy
Oblivion
Gears of War
