I'm not getting why you'd want to play gameboy games...I mean, yes, I understand there's a huge library there, but you can buy a GBASP for way less. After playing some of the PSP releases, I can't imagine wanting to look at GB quality images on "my precious".
Now MAME...that could be interesting. Even better, virtual pinball....just turn it sideways and it would be about right.

GBA emulator = more games and only having to carry one system on an airplane. I get enough strange looks from security guards with just the PSP.

How big is that viewing area? One by one? They can't make it any bigger?

How big is that viewing area? One by one? They can't make it any bigger? Give it time to port over the emulators properly and we'll see many improvements. And remember - this is only the start of emulation on the PSP. I expect to see the SNES/Genesis and under all emulated within the year. They just gotta figure out how to get it to work on the American PSP. And isn't that a shot of Dragon Warrior?

This is just Gameboy and not GBA right? Even so, I would love to have the Zelda GBC games on my PSP. The DS isn't compatible with original Gameboy games and my wife has the GBA SP.

Yeah, this will be GB and GBC only.
GBA emulation requires far more processing power than the SNES or Genesis as it's a 32 bit system. Since even the best GBA emulators for PC currently require a minimum 500mhz cpu to play games, it's probably going to be a long while before you see one for the PSP.

Yeup. It doesn't matter if this emulator isn't of the greatest quality yet -- what's important is that it's been proven that emulation can and will happen on the PSP.
I think it's reasonable to assume NES/SNES/Genesis/MAME and others aren't very far behind...

Is the PSP similar in power to the Dreamcast? They have yet to get full speed SNES and Genesis emulation working on the DC, so I'm not holding my breath. However, MAME and 8-bit games should work well.

Is the PSP similar in power to the Dreamcast? The PSP is closer in terms of power to the PS2.

However, MAME and 8-bit games should work well. I can play SNES and Genesis games on my cell phone (though there's slowdown with full sound emulation turned on) which only has 200mhz processor and an operating system running a bunch of other crap in the background. So I'm pretty confident you'll see similar emulators for the 333mhz (IIRC) PSP.

I'd love a Snes Emu. Think of the amount of games you could get on a 512 Mb mem stick, and I'd finally have a portable version (although admittidly crap) version of U7.
