Holy macaroni batman!

New weapons, bosses, enemies and better AI! And fully controllable camera! And they speed the game up!!

My only hope is we'll get the same content from a cd, because I don't have Live (yet)...

EDIT: Oops, I didn't see it was already posted at the news section from ConsoleGold (because of the disabled headlines). Sorry Knightshade Dragon...

Nice.  Now that's how you do downloadable content.  Now if only I had XBox Live.  frown

Same here frown

Oh, I was browsing GoneGold as well, and the subject was already brought up there. Plus, a link to a site offering some more tidbits...

The real question is whether I can still play version 1.0 after downloading this.  And does the camera still have the R-button centering feature that I never minded?

Also, how much does Xbox live cost?  They may finally have me.  Damn.  Does anyone have an account in Boston that I can just plug my machine into for five minutes?

Say, Devil.  I notice your location and...

Seriously, if it's possible (I don't know the first thing about this service), I'll totally make you an offer you can't refuse for five minutes of download access.  Then you could go right back to your marathon ESPN Project Gotham Hitz session or whatever it is you people use Xbox live for.

I believe they have a number of different package available starting as low as $30 (a guess). It's a good service, and although I haven't played much on-line lately, I'm looking forward to the on-line play with Halo 2. When you break it down to a monthy cost, I think it's about $6 a month - a bargain IMHO.

VERY excited about Ninja Gaiden 1.1....now if they can only fix the Master Ninja Tournament.....

ale -

I'd have no problem giving you access or anything you need for the update but I'm not sure it will work.

I think, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, some of the updates go right to your HD and you can't even move them to a memory card.

I guess we could load up your X-Box with the "Devil" account, download the file and then delete it when we're done - or if you had broadband you could use a 2 month deal and get it that way.

Where are you?  We could work something out.

Actually, I might be wrong but I think Ninja Gaiden gamesaves can't even be copied to a memory card...so they might lock that ability out with the download.  Plus you'd have to install Live onto his machine and login as Devil, download all the crap in order to update it and get the Ninja Gaiden patch.

Like Devil said, I'm not sure it's going to work.  Alejandro, do you have broadband at your residence?  You should just go out and get Live.  I don't know if you're into games like Halo 2, but that type of game is reason enough to have Xbox Live before November 9th.

Drat!  Don't have broadband yet, and I tend to prefer video games as a solitary pursuit, unsullied by the legions of preteen spoilsports.  If Xbox live is cheap, I may sign up just to get this and then forget about it.  I mean, if it's like the cost of an expansion pack, it works out...right?

Are there still games that give a free month or two out of the box?  If so, do you have to sign up past that?

Maybe they would be nice enough to put it on either one of the Xbox Exibition discs or OXM could put it on their disc.  The could even release a demo disc like the Rainbow Six 3 disc that had the Ghost Recon / Splinter Cell downloadable content on it.

Like aledromo, I still want the ability to play v1.0.  I haven't bought Ninja Gaiden yet, but I will be.

There are quite a few sports games with a cupon for 3 free months of Xbox live.  I could even send you the codes since I never used them.  I doubt that you HAVE to pay after the three month trial.

Thanks for the offer, Stiffler.  Come August (and more information as to whether this will replace or sit next to 1.0), I just may take you up on that.  Don't you need to have a disk or something to then use codes?  The whole process seems to alien.

Oh, and if you have the patience, it's a great game.  Barring a few inevitable hiccups in pacing, third person action has never been done better.

Wife grew up in Brighton. In-laws still live there.

If there isn't a good solution by August, I'd be happy to help you out.

As long as you have one Live-enabled game, it SHOULD install the necessary stuff onto the Xbox when you put it in the first time.  You just need the code to put in the Dashboard.  When the time comes I can probably just scratch it off and e-mail it to you.  The only thing you will be missing is the headset (you can buy a third party headset for cheap) and the free game.

I don't think I ever put in the disc that comes with the starter kit, just booted without a disc in the drive and went to the Live section of the Dashboard.  I had my Xbox for quite some time before my Live account, so it probably got updated through one of my games along the way.

You could test this by booting without a game and hitting the Xbox live button.  It will probably say something like "Welcome to the awesomest thing happening on teh interweb ever today!" and ask for your code and birthday.
