Well, I think everyone is just going to have to face the fact that the V.I.P. System is going to absolutely kick ass.  This, along with online leagues, and the ability to prepare for each game (if you desire), and the improved salary engine is going to up the ante' big time for everyone.

Mark my words, this is Game of the Year potential.

Assuming of course that it all actually works!

I may be a huge fan of Visual Concepts... but I am a skeptical one also.

---------------------

...and off topic a bit, apparently A.J. isn't looking so hot at all down in south Florida.  My luck just never seems to change.

I hope T.O. gets hit by a cheesesteak truck!

You want to know what I find really ironic about this...

(Madden fans, don't get pissed about me saying this, it's just my warped opinion)

In reality, based on quality, it should be the competition that sells for $10.00 and ESPN that sells for $60.00

$10.00 for the game I will spend more hours playing this year than any other game I buy, INCLUDING PC games.  (assuming the running game is fixed).

This whole thing just borders on the absolutely absurd!

Our hobby is a crack-up sometimes, isn't it?

This is copied from a post (that is copied from a post) on OpSports... and supposedly ranks the teams from lowest to highest as far as overall rating for the game this year.

I think by looking at the ranks, we can get an idea of what the numbers are. Obviously its lowest - highest. I'll also note that a few mid ranged teams share the same/nearly the same overall rating

NYG
SD
HOU
ARZ
PIT
NYJ
DET
CLE
WAS
GB
SF
CIN
CHI
DEN
MIA
STL
ATL
DAL
NO
JAX
SEA
TEN
BUF
IND
KC
BAL
OAK
TB
MIN
PHI
CAR
NE

Now, don't shoot the messenger here.  I am not saying it's true or false, I am just relaying information for anyone that is interested.  Obviously there are some funny things here if the list is reliable, but if it's accurate, I suppose it could be worse.

Anyway, just thought you guys would be interested, IF it is a real list.  Judge for yourself.

Buffalo should be wedged in between NYJ and DET and are the Panthers really the second best team in the NFL?

And Devil --

Check out the screenshots at OpSports.

You are going to LOVE the Eagles.  Your top rated guys are in key positions this year.

I'm betting on LOTS of online Eagles players this year my friend.

And did you get aload of that Sound screenie?  What the hell is THAT all about?   Looks pretty cool to me, though I haven't a clue what it is.

I saw that list over at OS, and it's been pretty much debunked of it being true.  I mean, there's no way in hell the 49ers are better than GB.  Only in my mind that's true

Bah - I'm not that high on the Eagles this year in terms of winning it all. My secondary has been gutted and I'm not sure I trust the backfield yet. I'd say they should be ranked around 8 in the league. TO is nice and all, but I'm not sure how much he helps.

I always play with the Iggles so those years in the late 90's are coming back around for me!

Something like this:

PS2
Graphics 5.0
Sound 5.0
Control 4.5

XBOX
Graphics 4.5
Sound 5.0
Control 4.0

Madden:

PS2
Graphics 4.5
Sound 4.5
Control 5.0

XBOX
Graphics 4.5
Sound 4.5
Control 5.0

Gamecube
Graphics 4.5
Sound 4.5
Control 4.5

They're a joke.  GP is a flat out joke.  For one, the game looks and sounds better on Xbox period.

whatever though, not worth my time.

I looked at the new screens at OpSports and saw that there was a "playbook thing" with directions on how to break tackles. Down on the bottom it indicated that it was on page 26 of 196.

196 pages of instructions!!!!!?!?!?!?! Holy details!!!

I should just give up right now!

Check out this cool little screenie:

This is pretty cool.

And remember, if you find the game too hard, and are feeling depressed about your skills:

Just look for Lockdown and then hit Press 'x' to download VIP file.

All your depression will soon go away.  I can make anyone look good!

HELP. I have some ESPN NFL 2K5 Questions.

1. I know how to download and save someone's VIP off XBOX Live. I thought you can play that person's VIP in a game? I have loaded the VIP but when I go to quick and use the right joystick control it will not show up.

2. How do you view your own Online User Card? I can see other peoples but not mine.

THANKS!!

Eric

Eric,

There's probaly an easier method to check out your own player card, but I just create a quick public game and check it there.  You should show up (if you made your game public) and just right click on the thumbstick.

Sorry I've been out of the loop on this game for a week.  I had a personal tragedy in my life over the past week.

I've played this game about 45 minutes, maybe less.  Anyway, the problem above resulted in me not having a review done in a timely process.  Someone else on the staff was kind enough to get a review done and it is in the stages of editing towards its final showing.  I still plan on reviewing Madden 2005, but we'll see how I'm feeling at that point.

I still plan on doing the tournament and season, but I may have to bow out.  I'm happy they start at least somewhat into August.  At this juncture, playing games is the furthest thing from my mind, but that isn't to say I won't get the feeling back, you know?

Anyway, in case some of you were wondering where I was hiding, I'm back somewhat now.  If I ever see any of you on I may just ask for a game or something biggrin

I really miss getting a good trouncing from the Vikings, and figured you would be happy to oblige.

Hope everything works itself out for you.
