I can't even get it to run.  I get the following error:
FSW2.DLL is missing

I do a net search, and lo and behold, tons of people have the same problem, yet no fix.

WTF!?!?!?!

That sucks -- it's a great game.  Do you have an Xbox?

Yeah, I played to completion on the xbox.  I just liked it so much, that I wanted to play it on the pc with better graphics.

I'm also just pissed off that I paid for this, and now I can't get my money back.

Quite a bizarre problem... have you dug around on the CDs and checked to see if the .dll is there, and maybe just forgot to install itself?  Have you done a full system search for the file to make sure it's not just somewhere else?

Ok this is so stupid, but when Sid Meiers Gettysburg came out, there was a DLL missing Qbert. You could either wait for the patch (which was pretty quick), or you could get someone on the net to make a copy and email or FTP it to you. I know this might be too simple for this problem, but has that been tried and failed?

For the record I loved FSW-I know a lot of people COUGH LE COUGH think thats its just a glorified puzzle game, but I would like to try it again as well, and am looking forward to the next game!

I've tried searching the web for the file, but no luck yet.

Well, since you've covered the obvious bases, I guess the next step is to find someone that has a working install of the game and have them email the .dll to you along with instructions on where it goes.

I also assume you've done the whole uninstall/reinstall dance with a side of double-checking that your antivirus is 100% disabled, right?

Nope, the problem exists in the demo too.

Ok, research has resulted in the following possibility -- your processor might be incompatible with the game, Qbert.  What make, model, and speed processor are you running?

It seems this happens in the demo as well.  Being bored on a Sunday I tried to find some help for him and many of these referred to the demo. frown

i've never gotten the sound on this game working correctly - it's really stuttery and poppy (Turtle Beach Santa Cruz and Nforce2 Soundstorm).

Yes, it should be.

The other culprit is apparently certain motherboard chipsets.

Specific motherboard chipsets aren't a requirement, it's just, the game is bugged with certain mobo chipsets and coughs up the FSW2.dll error.

That's one hell of a bug.  It makes the game a coaster for many people.  THere's not even a work-around.
