It's.... The Weekend Playlist!!! And I'm your host, the Man from Mayaguez, PR_GMR. What will be your gaming pleasure this weekend? There's been no change with yours truly. Still playing League Of Legends and Sim City Social regularly. Because my internet connection is terrible, I want to start playing a console game.. so I think I'm going to finish Transformers: War For Cybertron on my PS3, so I can get started on Transformers: Fall Of Cybetron, which I got over the holidays. How about... you?!

This weekend is boardgaming.  Headed to the monthly "marathon" tomorrow to get some goodness in, and probably play a few games of Android Netrunner, as well as whatever else is available.

Torchlight - PC - I forget where I am in this right now. First play through as a warrior. How many levels are in the dungeons usually?
Metro 2033 - 360 - Getting back to this some time.

Probably some Final Fantasy IX and Gravity Rush on Vita.  Since the bulk of the next 6 weeks will be spent on the road, I need some good mobile gaming.

I'm playing the "watching my email for a possible beta invite" game to try to get into the SimCity Beta.  It's rediculous how much I want to play this damned game in 1 hour chunks.  I'm gonna try Sim City Social just for kicks and giggles...yea, it's that bad.  Maybe even install my steam copy of SimCity 4?

Beyond that, I've got KOTOR plans, and I intend to finish up some writing on some articles for the site.  One will be inflammatory and contain a racial slur!  Stay tuned...   icon_eek

The wife has been playing Dance Central 3 with me, so despite looking uncoordinated, we keep doing that for about an hour every other day.

I've been trying to burn through Syndicate's single player. It's not bad. A tad generic, but I really dig the art design.

The other game I've been playing is the "waiting for Ni no Kuni" game. Gameplay is derivative, controls suck. 35/100.

Finishing up Kotor 2. Good game, but ready for it to be over. Anxious to start Kings bounty:Warriors of the North. I have really enjoyed and been hooked on all the previous KB games.

I just figured out how to transfer PS1 game saves from my Vita to my PS3 and vice versa.  Digging the fact that I can now play FF9 on the big screen while I'm home, then transfer that save to the Vita for when I hit the road.   icon_cool

Pretty good, although the text is a bit small for my eyes.  It's not great on the big screen, but the smoothing option helps (as does not being overly picky smile).

Is it pillar-boxed or stretched?  I've never attempted to play a PlayStation game on a Vita, so I don't know if those are options or preset.

I really hope they offer some kind of option to play Final Fantasy XII on the Vita.  Remastered or a straight port -- I'd take whatever I could get.

You've got a few different screen options with PS1 games on Vita:  Original (boxed on sides, top, and bottom), Normal (boxed on sides), Zoom (doesn't work, cuts off top and bottom), Full (full screen, ends up looking strange because of the stretch), and Custom (you can size it however you want).  You get to the options by touching the screen for 4 seconds...screen options are in "other settings".  It's actually pretty cool.

There's a ton of PS2 games that I'd love to see on Vita (or through PS3).  The Tenchu series, Shadow Hearts, Xenosaga, .hack, Dark Cloud 2, Final Fantasy X and XII (although I keep hearing an HD remake of X is in the works), and a few others.  After looking through some of the absolute crap that's available through the PSN store as PS2 "classics", I'm amazed that some of these big names haven't made it up there yet.

I'd love to see all 3 Shadow Hearts, Dark Cloud 2 and Xenosaga make it to the PS2 Classics.  some more of the Shin Megami Tensei games would be nice too.

luckily I have access to a PS2 and all 3 Xenosaga games plus Persona 3 FES.

I played the crap out of Vandal Hearts (similar vein to Final Fantasy Tactics) on the PS1 - that could come over and I wouldn't be disappointed.  smile

Ah yes, I need more random encounters in my life.  slywink

Speaking of random encounters, wasn't there a Skies of Arcadia revamp that was supposed to come out on XBLA or PSN?  Did I just miss that?

Well, this isn't a Vita port, but it might be close enough:

Quote from: Siliconera
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers has a release date on the Nintendo 3DS, revealed this morning by Nintendo of America. The game is slated for release on April 16th.

As previously reported, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, originally released on the Sega Saturn, has been updated with voice-acting, faster battles, the ability to change difficulty setting mid-dungeon, and an auto-mapping feature on the 3DS bottom screen.

They say this is the first time Soul Hackers will be available in English, previously having been a Japanese exclusive.  Sadly, my attempts to engage with the Shin Megami Tensei franchise outside of Persona 3 and 4 have been short and brutally disappointing, so I don't expect to get much mileage out of this one. icon_frown

Long weekend is over, but it was certainly a productive one for gaming.  Got 17 hours into Final Fantasy IX, bouncing back and forth between PS3 and Vita.  I had forgotten that underneath a brightly colored shell, FF IX actually tells a really damn dark story.  Mass murder, genocide, racism, loneliness, questioning authority, etc., etc...it's certainly not happy fun times.  Damn great game though.  I was using a couple FAQs to make sure I didn't miss anything, and was amazed at how crazy some people are about grinding out levels in these games.  17 hours in put my party at around level 20-22 when heading to the Outer Continent.  This dude has put in 27 hours and has a party in the 60's at the exact same point in the game.  I've been spending what I thought was quite a bit of time cranking out some levels...that's just stupid.

I also gave Vindictus a shot, but couldn't really make heads nor tails of it.  Re-played through about half of Journey as well.  Love that game.
