I posted the car list for Forza Motorsport on the main page.

In case you didn't see it elsewhere, you can check it here.

Looks good to me!  I would be happy to see the new features ported over to PGR2, but I'm easy like that.  This definately tops my list of games I am looking forward to most this year.

It was this moment that took the movie from being a little ho-hum to “holy shit, did that shark just eat a plane!?”

My SVT Focus is in there! And it's even the right year.

It's a shame I hate driving games that are that realistic. I could never do anything in the demo except drive straight off the course in every turn after I hit my brakes.

Cars I regularly dream about  that are included in this game:

2003 BMW #43 BMW Motorsport M3-GTR

2005 Chevrolet Corvette C6

2004 Ferrari Challenge Stradale

2005 Ford GT

Just about any version of the R34 Skyline GTR

1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi

And of course, the various Porsche's topped by this little beauty, the Carrera GT

The real question is, will GT4 come out before this and have me enthralled enough to ignore Forza when it first comes out?  Time will tell.  I'm excited though smile

2003 Nissan 350Z Track

Sweet.  Mine's the touring trim, but the Track is mostly just a brake upgrade anyway.

They have my actual car too... but I don't think I'll be driving it much in game when the 22B, Spec-C and the Cusco versions are right there.

A plane jane WRX STi just doesn't cut it slywink

HERE is a site that has quite a bit of info on GT4, including a list of all the cars in the Japanese version.  The list is huge!

No doubt I will end up buying both, but I've had so much fun playing PGR2 over Xbox Live with fellow CG'rs that I am most excited about Forza.  Get on the bus, Jake!  You haven't lived until you've raced against a fleet of orange Vauxhall's!  Tongue

I believe it DOES support Link.  I have the manual at home, I'll make sure and report back tonight.

Nice list of cars. The only thing i don't get is the headline of the press release:

"Microsoft Announces Unprecedented Fleet for Forza Motorsport
Forza Motorsport Peels Out of the Garage with More Than 230 Car"

'Unprecendented' crosses the line from bullshit marketing hyperbole to ouright lie. Numerous games over the past 5 years have shipped with a large stable of cars and the 230 number has even been exceeded by a little independant cult classic game on the PS1 called gran turismo 2.

Spin, spin, spin...it's the name of the game.  Supposedly Gran Turismo 4 has over 650 cars in it.

Unprecedented... No prior game has had that exact list of 230 cars. It's unprecedented! See, not a lie. They didn't say most cars ever, you just read it that way, which would be their intent. slywink

No McLaren F1?

That's the only popular car it seems to be missing.  I wish it had lesser known cars such as the Ariel Atom.  Also, I wish they had the Golf V

I'm still disappointed that there's finally a game with my exact car in it that I could drive around in, but it's an uber-realistic one.

I want pics of the Mazda 3 hatch (the car i drive) in game.

Guys, this game is uber realistic, but it has stability controls you can turn on to make it extremely accessible and drivable and still feel very very real.

If your like me and really want a taste, go rent Mechassault 2 from Blockbuster or Hollywood video.  The mechassault 2 dvd has a Forza Motorsport demo on it which gives you one track and 6 or 8 cars to choose from (i forget).  So far i've tested out the NSX, the Lancer EVO VIII, and the WRX STI.

The demo lets you run 3 lap races and frankly its so damned fun i'm thinking about buying the game just to have the demo until April.

Everything is spot on in this game, its very accessable with the stability controls on and very realistic too.  This the first racing sim i've actually felt like I could FEEL the car in the corners and stuff.  Its just solid.  The feel is perfect.

The graphics are amazing on my HD widescreen.  It almost looks like a race on TV and the sound...it sounds better than watching a race on TV.  Using DD 5.1 sound you get extremely accurate sound placement and can hear every car around you individually and tell exactly where it is in relation to you.  The sound for each car is unique and spot on for that car.  The driving characteristics of the WRX STI and the sound of it were both totally spot on.  I've driven one of these pretty hard IRL and I gotta say, i'm totally impressed with the game and would definitely call this a true sim which is accessible to the average player.  Even the hiss and whine of hte turbo is present here.  The cornering handles just like the real one did for me. I've also driven several races in the NSX and even though i havn't driven one IRL, from the ones i've seen driven on track, it appears to be spot on as well.

Do yourself a favor and go rent Mechassault 2 so you can play this demo if you havn't yet.
