speaking of wheels, what is up with the lack of decent looking ones lately? I cannot remember the last time I saw any available in store- did MS decide not to let anyone make any more for the 360, or did retailers just decide they didn't sell well enough?

I'd suggest not playing Burnout with the wheel, it is definitely a more arcadey experience built for a controller.
Hmm, maybe i'll just skip the wheel and just get Burnout for the PS3 instead.

you might want to take a look at Burnout Paradise; I spent about an hour or so just driving around the city taking in the sites, and I've had a blast with most of the events so far. I Marked Man.

It's weird because I've heard that Burnout is better with a pad, but the G27 Wheel comes bundled with it, so it must be decent with a wheel. The funnier thing is I bought Burnout Ultimate PC on Steam and forgot about it. I never even downloaded it. Sorry to derail the thread, I think I am going to pick up a wheel anyway

I remember us all playing a racing game together, (was it in GTA IV??) where we'd race back and forth down a coast. There was also the race around the landing airplanes. It was CeeKays first time controlling a car I think. I was doing really well, until HARK ran me off the road. I haven't touched a steering wheel since.
I remember those days. good times. so, I was wathcing this video and I'm wondering how the heck he's controlling his speed in it.

so, I was wathcing this video and I'm wondering how the heck he's controlling his speed in it. I would guess that he isn't controlling the speed at all. It is most likely just automatically adjusting to the suggested speed at any point on the track. In those earlier videos they already said this is a separate "minigame" mode where you just steer like an idiot and pass as many cars as possible.

FORZA 4 profile import and launch car pack announced Notice the Top Gear logo on the bottom of the box Microsoft's fired out a Forza Motorsport 4 info blowout, revealing that a limited quantity of retail games will include an "exclusive in-game car pack" at launch.
The platform holder's also confirmed plans for a Limited Collector's Edition ("stay tuned for more details") and a Profile Import feature.
With Profile Import, based on your player level and the cars in your garage in Forza 3, gift cars will be automatically added to your Forza 4 garage and you'll also receive bonus gifts and credits, says MS.
And for those who spent hours creating intricate layers and liveries in the Forza 3 Livery Editor, you will also be able to import those layers, it says. The car pack, limited to the first production run of Forza 4 game discs, will include:
* Ford Mustang GT Coupe 1965: Take to the road in this classic American stallion, one of Ford's most successful launch cars behind the Model A. * Koenigsegg Agera 2011: "The Agera--from the Swedish verb "to act"--celebrates 15 years of Koenigsegg's uncompromising philosophy of making dream cars." * Lexus SC300 1997: A classic personal luxury coupé, the SC300 combines a powerful racer with a 225bhp I6-powered engine. * RUF RGT-8 2011: The spectacular RGT-8 is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine that has been fine tuned to deliver unmatchable sports car power and curb appeal. * Tesla Roadster Sport 2011: For luxury car fans, the Roadster Sport is electric heaven. Get behind the wheel of this electric two-seater and go zero to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds with a peak rating of 288 horsepower

not a bad idea, plus F4 gives stuff based on your F3 saves.
My only concern is my lack of Kinect. If they have decent head tracking, it will annoy that I can't do it. lol

It's not by choice that I don't have one. Send me one and I'll use it. Taking care of my parents instead of working a paying job doesn't leave the kind of cash required for a Kinect.

oh dear...looks like the Pre-order bonus's are the 'depends where you buy it' kind http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/23957/Forza-4-gets-preorder-bonuses/On the retailer side, the following retailers will each be offering a specific bonus car for those who pre-order the game through them:
* Available at Amazon.com - Subaru Impreza WRX STI: The Subaru Impreza WRX STI is the highest standard-edition trim in the Subaru compact car line. The STI is recognized as a speed demon on race tracks, winning first place at Super GT in 2008. * Available at Best Buy - BMW 1 Series M Coupe: Reaching top speeds of 250 km/h, the 1 Series M Coupe is the high-performance version of the famed BMW 1 Series Coupe. * Available at GameStop - Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde: The creation of Italian automaker Alfa Romeo and first introduced at the March 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the Giulietta contains an exclusive Quadrifoglio Verde configuration with a 1.7L turbocharged engine that will steer you to victory. * Available at Wal-Mart - MINI John Cooper Works Clubman: MINI enthusiasts around the world rejoice! The JCW Clubman sports a 1.6-liter four-cylinder MINI engine that has been tuned and turbocharged to include 208 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. * Available at Target - Honda CR-Z EX: The Honda CR-Z EX is Honda's sport hybrid with an ultra-modern and sporty look, featuring 16" wheels and tires, low-to-the-ground stance and swooping bodywork. Additionally, its six-speed manual transmission makes it the only hybrid with three pedals.

And for your new racing game this fall, a new "wheel" from Microsoft: Announcing the Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel Here are some details from the press release: Launching in early October, the Wireless Speed Wheel is completely wireless and controlled intuitively with precise steering, standard controller buttons/triggers, and haptic feedback with rumble. The device is compatible with all racing games right out of the box*. The Wireless Speed Wheel will be available for $59.99 (U.S. ERP) and will ship to retailers worldwide beginning September 26, 2011. This device combines a fun and immersive driving experience with the biggest racing game of the year, the best rated “Forza Motorsport.” With trigger buttons for gas and brake, combined with a rumble feedback, the Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel provides intuitive standard controller buttons that immerse the driver into the game, whether you like to white knuckle it down the race track with your hands at “10 and 2” or “9 and 3.” The new Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel balances the realism of a wheel with the feel of a controller for greater user edge in game play. It includes buttons for game specific functions including triggers, ABXY and D-pad along with green bands of lights on each handle to provide visual cues when necessary. For more information on the Wireless Speed Wheel, visit www.xbox.com.

Have they started announcing cars yet? For the first time in my life, there's actually a chance that the car I own (2011 Ford Fiesta) might actually make it into one of these games. I so hope they include it.

wth is with all the ghey wheel crap?
Why would i ever give up my nice force feedback wheel and pedals system that makes the whole experience super immersive?
sure, i'll add a kinect for head tracking...but not for steering!
idiocy.
What always attracted me to forza over games like that lame playstation racing game was two things:
1: Feel. I could feel the car, by the way it moved from the physics on screen before i had a wheel...and then also through the wheel once i had it. Amazing feeling what the car is feeling by sight and by feedback through the wheel allowing you to drive it to the max but not beyond.
2: AI that made the racing have a great illusion of being real without playing with idiots driving you off the road at turn 1 every single race.
Wireless and kinect wheels lose everything. I've played wireless wheels before with the Wii...it was the ultimate suck for control.

I wouldn't be surprised (and would even consider supporting) the Shift series losing Ferarri. At the end of the day EA is returning to form and competing to be the biggest dick-fish in the pond.

Season PassFor 2,400 Microsoft points (£20.56 / $30), players will get access to six game add-on packs, representing a 30 percent overall saving when compared to purchasing the content separately, the company said.
The Season Pass will deliver "60 of the hottest cars to supplement your Forza experience" across six game add-ons released between November 2011 to April 2012 30% saving again, just like the Gears of War one, could be a thing we will see more often with other Microsoft Published games
