Quoting myself since people might have missed this video on the console forum.

A new video popped up on G4, it contains a significant amount of high res combat gameplay footage, it's not quick cuts either, you can really get a feel for the changes.

However, it is a slight spoiler, there's two new enemy types shown and considering how much of them there are, probably gives away the major theme of one of the major story missions on a planet...

Also, heed Daehawk's warning, that video does contain a massive amount of spoilers.  Although it's stuff that will probably be explained less than a quarter of the way through the game as part of the reveal of the main threat, those who want to have that nice sense of surprise and "WTF?!" should skip it.  I was expecting a montage of shots of new aliens to fight, but it's actually a more in depth look at the main opposing factions in ME2, which means spoilers.

Media black out time for me, I just spoiled that early reveal for myself.  Although I'm sure there will be more twists as the game progresses.

The boxed/retail PC version of Mass Effect 2 will use only a basic disk check and it will not require online authentication. This is the same method as Dragon Age: Origins. Digital versions will use the retailers protection system.

1 - Yes, there are 2 game discs for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions, both the Collector's and standard editions.

2 - There is a 3rd disc with the Collector's Edition. This is a movie DvD containing making of and other bonus information.

3 - The PC version is a standard install. You install the information from both discs and then play with 1 disc in the drive. No swapping.

4 - The Xbox 360 does not have an install and does require disc swapping during play.

5 - Even though there is a disc swap, it occurs at a carefully planned place in the game (that does not interfere with gameplay) and is done once. You do not swap back and forth. 1 swap and then done.

6 - Why 2 discs? Answer: Because you cannot fit this much awesome on one disc.

Yeah, I think I was fooling myself thinking I might wait on picking this up. My current playtime in DA has renewed my love for Bioware; this will be a day one purchase now next year.

Engineer looks pretty sweet. My playthrough of the first (360) was as an engineer; I had a great time with it.

Looks like a pc purchase for me. Picking up the original for 5 bucks on one of these digital download sales kinda sealed it for me. Plus with DA I'll also have access to any of the shared content from it also.

I keep watching this video. The Krogan with guts on him is just funny and kool. Its hard to not take it as real. Whoever did the CG work for this preview video put some serious work into it. Its like watching real stuff happen. Now Im torn because I will have enough to get a game by the time this comes out but I still haven't gotten Dragon Age. I guess I'd go for this though.

I just noticed though that video shows Purgatory but then doesn't show who the biotic is they got from there. Just the Krogan and the alien assassin.

Picked up my reserve copy today for the PC. They gave me a code for some Terminus armor and a gun that shoots black holes. A guy I know is already on disc two of the 360 version.

Is this the ME2 thread? I thought I would see five or six pages of stuff. I'm very much enjoying the game. The story telling is top notch. The cut scenes are a bit annoying. I think for the first time the in game graphics kick the rendered stuff right in the junk.

Seems like most people are playing the console version, for some reason. I'd expect more people to go for the PC version, but go figure :-)
