Square Enix has announced a November 14th release date for the DS remake of FF3, according to RPGamer. This makes a Final Fantasy trifecta, with FF12 on October 31, FF5 for the GBA on November 7, and FF3 on November 14. Can't wait!

Yeaaaah that's a whole lot of Final Fantasy. It's like that "Summer of Square" they had back in the PSX days, except it's three FFs!

FF5 for the GBA on November 7
Wait...huh? It's coming out then? Good lord. I need to take a week off of work or something to play 3 Final Fantasy games in a month's time.

i have just bought final fantasy 1 and 2 for my DS(the GBA part)..and will be getting final fantasy 4 for it on thursday(even though i have these on ps1)
final fantasy 3 has never been released in the UK...and i am not suprised to see that there is no mention of it getting a european release.......which really saddens me as these games are my favourite, and i have seen the DS screens for FF3 and they look superb......as for number 5 ,i guess that will be next year when that gets released here
so i am guessing that number 6 will also be on its way.....but are numbers 7,8 and 9 to big for the GBA or DS do you think?...it would be good seeing them get revamped, even if it is just for the DS
i think, that those 3 being PS1 only, may have something to do with them proberbly NOT coming soon, lol

FF6 for the GBA should arrive sometime in the first half of 2007. Square Enix also hinted at further DS remakes (presumably FF6) if FF3 is a success. A PS3 remake of FF7 has been heavily rumored for a while now, and it's probably a good bet that it's being worked on.

i hope so,i saw the tech demo...although to be honest it didnt totally blow me away(the ps3 tech side i mean)...it was still impressive being comparede to the ps1 version, lol
i am in the middle of playing ff8 as well on my ps2,and the graphics have dated badly..although the cut scenes and pre rendered backgrounds still look quite good

Square Enix has announced a November 17th release date for the DS remake of FF3, according to RPGamer. This makes a Final Fantasy trifecta, with FF12 on October 31, FF5 for the GBA on November 7, and FF3 on November 14. Can't wait! so wait, which day is it? I believe the officially announced day according to IGN is the 14th.

A PS3 remake of FF7 has been heavily rumored for a while now, and it's probably a good bet that it's being worked on. FWIW, that rumor has been emphatically shot down by Squeenix every time it comes up. Not that I wouldn't want to see it, but my guess is that they wouldn't be quite so adamant about denying it if it were actually being worked on.

Especially most of the major production divisions at Square are accounted for.

Oh wow... I would pick up both the GBA re-release of FF6 and a DS re-working of FF6! That's one of my favorite games of all time.

Assuming we're talking about the same FF that was FF3 for the SNES, ditto here. Easily the best console RPG I've ever played (I never got around to the chrono series, though it's on my eventual TODO list).

Chrono Trigger is also absolutely fantastic and well worth playing. I think it's actually aged pretty well, too.

I think one of two things will happen: 1) Chrono Trigger on GBA next fall. With FF6 out early next year, it's the next likely choice for another port. 2) Chrono Trigger remake on the DS. When you look at the combat system and things like the X slashes and such, it's a natural for use for the DS's touch screen and with the GBA pretty much DOA in Japan it would make sense for them to focus on bringing it to the DS.

I have no idea why I typed November 17th in the thread title, but I've fixed it now.

Or...Squenix will get bright and allow the game to appear on the Wii's emulation thingy. Then not only will we buy the game there, but we'll get it on whatever portable system they put it on too.
