I'm really starting to wonder if CeeKay and I are the same person (we both started threads on this within about 25 minutes or so of each other). Very scary.

Anyway, thought I'd move my post about it over from hardware/software hell...

Yikes

, FileFront announced it was "suspending operations":
Dear FileFront User:
We regret to inform you that due to the current economic conditions we are forced to indefinitely suspend the FileFront site operations on March 30, 2009. If you have uploaded files, images or posted blogs, or if you would like to download some of your favorite files, please take this opportunity to download them before March 30th when the site will be suspended.
We would like to give a warm thank you to all of you who have been part of the FileFront communities we have built together. Your support has had a meaningful impact for all of us here at FileFront. Again, we want to give you a sincere “thank you” for your support over the years and wish you all the very best.
I was using their service to host some stuff I made with The Movies (handy once Lionhead unplugged The Movies Online a while back), and some Comic Book Creator stuff I did using City of Heroes screenshots. It was just a handy free way to make files available for download without needing to book some ftp space. I hate to see 'em go.
And now and then I did find that Google searches for patches and updates would take me to Filefront and it was generally smooth downloading from there without too much fuss.
While I appreciated their free file hosting service, I never could tell how they made any money. They didn't seem to have much advertising on the site.
I went ahead and "off loaded" what I had there. It included a couple MP3s from my playing the DS guitar-sim Jam Sessions. It was the only way I could think to share it at the time.
