Fugitive undercover cop.  Nothing to lose.  Max Payne.

Most recently, it's Fran from FFXII.

The co-pilot from Microsoft Flight Simulator

He's just such a calm professional dedicated to safe flying how can you not like him?  Check out the babe next to him, you totally know he's getting some.

Mariko "Spirit" Tanaka from Wing Commander 1 & 2.

Her dramatic death in Wing Commander II, till this day, still brings me sorrow.  It was the first time ever that a computer game moment actually brought tears to my eyes - and a vengeful hatred for all things Kilrathi.  Till this very day I can visualize the exact scene with incredible clarity.

Upon learning that her captured fiance was onboard a Kilrathi ship with no chance of escape, she kamikazed her ship into the station holding her fiance, destroying it. Her last words to my character as she plummeted her ship into the Kilrathi ship:

"Tengoku de omachi shite imasu" (I am waiting for you in Heaven)

I will always remember Spirit...

I gotta go with the left paddle in Pong.  I always rooted for him.

But seriously I really liked the character of Gabriel Knight, Max Payne and Garret.  April Ryan gets high marks as well.

Not one mention of Shodan?!  Or Jon Irenicus? Wow, I'm amazed.

My picks:
Manuel Calavera (Grim Fandango) - "Run pigeons! It's Robert Frost!"
The Nameless One (PS:Torment) - What can change the nature of a man?
Shodan (System Shock Series) -"Look at you, hacker..."
Harold the ghoul (Fallout series)

Honorable Mentions:
Jon Irenicus (Baldurs Gate 2)
Ziggy (Xenosaga Series)
Meche, Glottis(Grim Fandango)
Clank (Ratchet & Clank Series) - "I am SO the Man."
