Tough one since I play them all, but I went with RPG. There's nothing like the excitement I get when a new Square-Enix game comes out or another highly anticipated RPG comes out.

I went with RPG as well, but after playing FF X-2 and Drakengard I can say that isn't true for me

RPGs, except for the wrongness that is FFX-2. And for what it's worth, I don't think Drakengard even qualifies as one.

I don't think you can put FPS and 3PS on the same ballot. I live for third person action but for the life of me cannot play first person shooters without getting sick, lost, or both.

I accidentally picked sports. Well, it's the main reason I bought a console in the first place (as I used to do most of my gaming on the PC), but I don't know if it's my favorite genre. My favorites would have to be a mix between FPS, RTS, and PC RPG's depending on my mood, but those are primarily games I play on the PC. Why did I pick sports again?

Strategy!!! My inner overlord demands that I command armies of soldiers to do my bidding and obtain many nubile women for my harem.....uh....I picked Strategy because I like the mental challenge.

I have to say platformers. You know what's so great about a game with solid controls and jumping puzzles? It's just you against the game designer. No bad A.I. to exploit, no lag or other gameplay flaws, and no excuses. You either execute it perfectly or fall in the bottomless pit and have to start over. I don't think there is anything else in gaming with as high stakes as paltformers.

RPG for me, but really I'll play most anything if it's halfway decent.
Strangely enough, while they are my favorite I never seem to finish RPGs. If I beat a game it will almost always be a platformer of some kind or an action/adventure game.

I picked FPS/3PS but could have gone with racing or sports too. I finish more FPS games than anything else, I think.

I picked "strategy" because that's my favorite overall, but I play all my strategy games on the PC. On consoles I prefer RPG or Action/Adventure, or even Sports (as long as it's football). But as Nth Power says: I'll play most anything if it's halfway decent.

I went with RPG as well, but after playing FF X-2 and Drakengard I can say that isn't true for me FFX-2 is a fan service title and Drakengard is more of an Action/RPG than anything else. Neither are a good example of a good RPG. For that matter, what was the last good pure RPG out there? Heck - what was the last good pure RPG that I've played? Now that's a thought. RPG for me though for favorite genre.

I picked sports. I play all major sports games and spend most of my time playing them with the roomies when they're around, as well. I was tempted to pick FPS, but it had third-person-shooter with it, so I had to go with sports.
