Soulchilde - I must admit I am surprised how many of your favorites are PC games.  I would not have thought that.  Just when you think you know a person...   icon_biggrin

Heh, I thought Tecmo Bowl would have impressed you.   Seems I'm the only person that liked that classic football game

Everyone loves Tecmo Bowl!  As far as antiquated football games go, however, I'd rather play NFL Challenge, Joe Montana Football or Cyberball.

Tecmo Super Bowl would definately be on my list smile

I have been begging for a XBLA version with online multiplayer for years.

1) Tie Fighter
KOTOR
Halo 2
Privateer
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 2
Ascendancy
XCom
Diablo
System Shock 2
10) Baldurs Gate II

Oblivion would be 11 (or could bump one of the bottom 5 - most likely Diablo...???)

Man this is tough, been thinking about it for a while. This is in no particular order:

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Freespace Series (no, I cannot choose between the two-they are so connected for me and so brilliant)

Mafia

Final Fantasy X

Master of Orion 2

Privateer

Dragon Warrior II

Half-Life series

Homeworld

Baldur's Gate 2

Planescape: Torment #1

Somehow I forgot Torment, my favorite game of the billenia. I am silly.
This list is subject to change.

Speaking of which, a totally new version of Punch-Out for the wii would make me buy the system that much quicker. Yeah, they have a 'boxing'....but I want a Punch-Out dammit!

icon_lol Nope, I'm the guy that actually likes Postal 2. It's weird, no one online seems to like it, but any of my friends that played it love it. Heck, I even liked Postal I so much (despite the rough graphics) I wrote a song based on it (cheap plug for the link in my sig  icon_twisted ). And I've played both parts (and the expansion pack for the first one) all the way to the end.

But, I'm sure there's one thing we can both agree on, the trailer for the movie based on it looks horrible.  wasted

My Gaming Hall of Fame list has changed little in years, with some recent additions.  My choices are based more on my memories/experiences with the games rather than the actual technical & design aspect.

10.  Conquered Kingdoms (PC)
A wonderful fantasy strategy game by QP Productions.

9.  America's Cup (C64)
The best America's Cup simulation ever and by EA.  Fond memories of rotating the joystick to raise the sails!

8.  Luigi's Mansion (GC)
Can't explain it.  My kids and I had tremendous amounts of fun with this title over and over again.

7.  Master of Magic (PC)
This needs no explanation.  Killing my enemies on the field and then raising them from the dead to fight for me was classic!

6.  Advent Rising (Xbox)
The game nobody loved.  You all missed out on one of the best sci fi stories of the decade.

5.  Ultima Underword (PC)
I have so many fond memories of my character Recnamorcen as he adventured in The Stygian Abyss!

4.  Star Wars X-Wing (PC)
Yes, I finally got to do the Death Star trench run!  I can now say I piloted an X-Wing fighter.

3.  Wing Commander Privateer (PC)
New Constantinople!  New Detroit!  Great memories!

2.  Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Series (Xbox)
Everyone knows my feelings on these.  icon_wink

1.  WING COMMANDER SERIES (PC)
Nothing and I repeat nothing will ever surpass the Wing Commander Series as the best gaming ever!  It had it all:  fantastic story, memorable characters, heart wrenching & tear inducing moments, betrayal, action, the Kilrathi, next to Star Wars:  the most memorable ship designs ever, best ever gaming soundtrack, an incredible and well designed universe, intrigue, best gaming funeral scenes ever coupled with the best somber music, best names for characters and ships (Dralthi, Prince Thrakhath, Tiger's Claw...), Maniac!,  Spirit!  icon_cry , FMV, Mark Hamill, the Kilrathi surrendering to me!

The pinnacle of my gaming life is Wing Commander.  Even to this day I remember everything from each game and the expansions with vivid clarity.  Heck, I even bought a CD and a Soundblaster card for my computer because of this game.  I played the original on my screaming 386SX 16 Mhz machine!  How I long to return to those days.  Just one more time to lace up the boots, slip on the helmet and tangle with the Kilrathi.  My greatest moment in gaming comes from Wing Commander:  the death of my flying partner Mariko Tanaka, Callsign:  Spirit.  An unbelievably powerful moment I never expected to see in any kind of videogame.  I remember stopping my gameplay for the day after that.  I couldn't continue as I was that distraught.  For a game to have that kind of effect it says a lot.

Other notables that would be just outside my Top 10 list would be games like:  Epyx Summer/Winter Games (PC), Star Wars Tie Fighter (PC), Sword of Fargoal (TRS-80), Halo (Xbox), Ultima Series (PC), Combat (Atari), Adventure (Atari), Jedi Qutcast Series (PC), and Jedi Power Battles (PS) to name a few.

Man, the fantastic memories you just re-surfaced with that speech of yours. biggrin
What an awesome series. And like you, I played the first game on my 386-16 with a newly purchased Soundblaster card too. And the Speech Pack (well, for the sequel).

I just wish that Hobbes wasn't so poorly written in the final version of WC3. Things were supposed to be so different according to the actual script contained in the CE tin...
