Judging from the screenshots and info here Sega is bringing a FATE/Diablo-style randomly-generated action RPG to the PC and XBox Live Arcade (I'm assuming it's XBLA, given the graphics) called Artemis Warriors.

This would make a really freaking cool XBLA game.  Looks alot like Mythos graphics wise.....

Very cool.  While pretty basic, FATE was a fantastic little game that I played the hell out of.  Would love a good hack-n-slasher on the 360.

Looks interesting, but I wouldn't bet money on XBLA.  Even something like Monster Madness was a full retail game and I believe Microsoft reiterated that they are sticking with the 150MB limit for now.

If it's anything like Fate, then no.

So what's the point? L00ting?

There's no defined 'end game'?  You just go and kill and kill and that's it?  What's the reward then? Just shinier l00t for l00t's sake?

Fate had an end boss, but there was little or no story as to why you were going after it.

I can't speak for this new game, but Fate was nothing more than either "fetch" or "kill monster X on floor X" quests.  You could accept 3 at a time, and new ones became available from the townsfolk once they were completed.   Sounds cheesy, but actually worked very well.

No joke, I've been waiting for Fate on XBLA since the Arcade was announced.  I actually stopped playing Fate because I wanted to play on the 360.  This is great news, IMO.

No that works for me.  As long as it's not just a wanderfest of randomness.  Go and kill monster x to get l00t y or Z gold is fine for me.

Yes and no. There was actually a very compelling story and some of the best cutscenes ever put into a game.

cutscenes, yes

story, no  icon_biggrin

IMO, the sole reason for the mass replayability of D2 was purely the loot system

Sacred 2 will be coming to 360 as well, the first Sacred on PC was a great Diablo-style game.

Duno if you all have ever heard of Mythos, but its an upcoming free MMO kinda Diablo-ish game for PC from Flagship. It's a ton of fun in its beta state.

Ah that's right, Mythos is that game Flagship made during their spare time working on Hellgate or something like that. How are the graphics? Also, are you sure it's an MMO?

Ehh, its not really an MMO, but its a massively online game if that makes any sense. Everyone is all together in certain areas. Kinda guild wars esque maybe? Graphics are very good, 3d, sort of not as artistic and stylized as titan quest, but more true 3d. Still some rough edges, and everything is a tad plain...still a beta of course and he game will be free, so I am not asking for too much yet.

A separate team is working on Mythos.  It was meant to be just a test of their online structure for Hellgate : London, but it looks like it will become a full game in its own right.  You can play either by yourself or group with others in instanced dungeons, while the town areas are open to all (like Guild Wars).  It's basically FATE 2, as the developer of FATE is the lead designer fro Mythos.

They could do it. The game is using randomly generated levels so there not allot of map data, plus the texture detail is pretty low from looking at the screenshots so I don't see it using allot of space.
