Fate and Spyware

I remember reading in some PC game mag that the game Fate has some pretty brutal spyware attached with it.  Can anyone confirm this?  I really want to play Fate but I'd like to avoid unnessary spyware.

Well it comes with the WildTangent software.  Some anti-spyware programs flagged it as spyware and I suspect earlier versions were pretty nasty.  I can say from personal experience that the newest version that comes with Fate gave me no problem at all and I'm always running Microsoft Antispyware, Spybot and Adaware.  None of them gave me any red flags.

When I uninstalled Fate I had to separately uninstall the Wildtangent driver using Add/Remove Programs.  It uninstalled easily and was gone permanently.

I think you'll be okay with it.

I think you can also get Fate through other avenues now, that do not require the wildtangent driver.
