1UP has a detailed preview of the latest JRPG release for Xbox 360, Far East of Eden 1, http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3149249&did=1

This is a port of Far East of Eden game that got mentioned a few times in this forum.  The 2nd in the series, Far East of Eden 2 is the game that made the Best games of all time chart in Japan, rank top along with the likes of Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, and Zelda (Oscarina of Time).

I mentioned before that this series is VERY Japanese and oriental, so it would appear rather foreign to those unfamiliar with the culture.  Though those who have seen anime such as Naruto probably would be familiar with hot spring, tea shop, shinto shrine, omiyage shops, etc..  Not to mention the toad/snake/slug summon that look like something straight out of Naruto.    http://www.1up.com/media?id=2792401&type=lg

That was an interesting preview.  It looks intriguing . . . even though it's not a "next-gen title."  But, you know, this exerpt:

"The main benefit it gets from being on 360 is the lack of load times and overall clean look."

Makes it fine.  I can live with an RPG on the 360 that isn't truly "next-gen"-like in graphical quality if load times are practically non-existant.

unfortunately there is no way in hell it will come to America. Even the PS2 versions weren't released here.

Microsoft doesn't seem as uptight as Sony about releasing games without cutting-edge graphics, so I think it's got a chance for a US release.

"though certain companies tried to get the games released overseas"
I wonder if this is the series that Working Designs wanted to localize, but Sony refused to allow it.
