not sure.  Steam autopatching is awesome but there are times where, if you're not paying attention, that you're not sure if it did or not.

Everytime I launch the game, Steam reinstalls DX9..     I only have about 5 games from steam, but this is the first game that does this. 

This a bug?  anyone else have the problem?

I can't start the game anymore with the new patch.  I've turned off all the mod ESPs so those aren't the issue (well, short of trying the game as a clean install - yuk).  I don't get any error messages, the game simply refuses to start up after hitting play in the launch banner. It worked just fine before the patch.   I should go do all those things you do to fix this (update video drivers, etc...) however I just can't find the desire to.  I enjoy this game, but I'm getting to the point that if something doesn't work I'm becoming less & less inclined to troubleshoot it.  Meh - I'm just cranky that this isn't working on my day off!  

I would be interested to hear if anybody else has encountered this issue and if so what the fix was.

Never mind, it was an easy fix (STEAM, verify integrity of data files).

Just finished the game at level 30 and got the Hardcore achievement. Steam says I've played for 64 hours, so it's one massive game.

I did the same the other night (level 30 and Hardcore achievement).  I put about 61 hours into the game, but now I am still playing going around and visiting all the places I never did.

Whats sniping like in this game, FO3 I have a awsome 50 cal sniper and own the badlands, I hardly go indoors as I am always looking for that perfect long range headshot.

There are several awesome sniper weapons. The latter parts of the game were almost too easy with my sniper character. I could one-shot pretty much anything, including deathclaws.

Sounds fine to me. I barely used stimpaks in my hardcore playthrough. While I rarely had more than about two dozen stimpaks at once in Fallout 3, I routinely had around a hundred of them in New Vegas. I felt like I was swimming in them even by the time I left the first town.

been a good month.  Earlier this month or late Nov, I picked up Enslaved for $5.  Today I wake up to find a $20 gift card from Bestbuy for being a loyal customer.  Fallout Vegas was on sale for $29 for the PC, so I got it for $10.

Ok everything is perfect now. Got all my mods going and all problems worked out. I have 100s and 100s of outfits to choose from lol. I'm thinking ahead to more mods now. I guess I will get some mods for my followers. I don't yet know who will be my followers yet so cant get mods yet. But looking forward to it. May also find some more graphic mods and such.

At this time Im using a 357 Magnum pistol and a special sniper rifle as back up. This is my current armor. has 25 DR on it.

dang, forgot how annoying the kill cam could be.  the geckos in the beginning usually were on top of me after killing one of them and watching the killcam (it even got stuck on one for about 15 seconds, thought my game has bugged), so off it goes.  I really wish they let you specialize in one more skill....
