I thought the gimp was sleeping.
no. Moliere's been around posting already this morning Well, that at least explains the odd headgear when we play pool. I just think always having to unzip the mouth area anytime he wants to take a sip of lemonade just seems like such an inconvenience.

Sold my opened, but never played gimped PS3 copy of the game for $32 on eBay last night.
Thanks Bethesda *thumbs up*
I can't interpret this post. You sold for a loss without ever playing it? Partially true. Also, since I own a 360 now, there's really no reason to own a copy of an inferior product DLC and playbility-wise. Liiiike, why would I continue to own a casette version of Future Sex/Love Sounds by Justin Timberlake if I just bought a cd-player? I mean, I want to play it, and I'm sure the $32 will pay for a platinum collection version of it down the line...and I have pretty much zero gaming time to devote to it.

I can't interpret this post. You sold for a loss without ever playing it? i played the 360 version before any of the DLC was available..and it was far from Gimped(the 360 version being the same when not including the DLC)...best game of 2008(or very near) if it weren't for Metal Gear Solid 4,(and if i had the PS3 version of Fallout 3)it would most probably be the best game on the PS3

Got about 3 solid hours with this game last night. It's still SO good.
I'm glad I took a break from it and am glad to be playing it again. The exploration is still a hoot and I've taken a baby step in advancing the plot. So righteous!

"The Pitt" DLC is supposedly available today. It's not up yet on Xbox Marketplace. I'm going to be a Day One downloader, anyone else?

I'm still on the fence about it. I rarely get extra content, unless I'm still playing the game. Since I play my games to death, I don't usually feel like revisiting them. The ability to level the character more is one of the reasons that I may get this at some point. There are probably other games that allow further character development in DLC, but I think it's the first one I've played. This could be one exception to my general "rule." Most likely it won't be Day One though.

okay two questions (and possibly no answers - im not sure how public beth is about info on these)
1) can i level up past the original cap (it is 20 right?)
2) do i get to take the "real" me to the pitt? i didnt like the idea of a simulation - hopefully with this one my guy can physically wander between the two worlds (pitt and dc)
im not looking for a walk all the way to penn - but hopping a train/blimp/ whatever between the two and being able to go back and forth is a must for me to consider it

I can't remember where I got this, but I had a copy and paste blurb in an email; it answers at least one of your questions (and I'm pretty sure the new level cap is 30) (see Kathode's post just below this on cap info): Question: A lot of Fallout 3 players are going to be powered up and headshotting mutants left, right and centre by the time The Pitt arrives. How will you make it challenging for end-game players who are all powered up?
Answer: We've opted to make sure anyone who purchases this DLC will be able to enjoy it at any level. Players who come in with guns skill maxed at level 20 will find Raiders a bit more difficult then what they're used to encountering wandering the wastes. Not to mention the new enemies, Trogs, like to hunt in large packs!

Boo. I was just really getting back into the game, but now it looks like I'll be waiting until the level cap extension occurs to buy Pitt. I know you can't spill specifics, but can you reveal an estimated release date? As in ballpark? Also, to potentially help the craving, for the anchorage DLC which I already have but have not played, do you accrue XP in the simulation?

Yeah I don't know what date they're targeting. I'm not on the DLC right now. Originally they were going to be spaced apart by about a month each, so figure about that amount. You do accrue XP in Anchorage. I'd recommend to go ahead and play it anyway though. You still get the reward. XP isn't everything It's still not up......anyone heard anything?
I don't believe it was supposed to be up until next week. Not sure where jztemple got his info from, but I haven't seen anyone on any other boards saying they got it, and Major Nelson hasn't posted anything.

I seemed to recall something from a month ago that they were targeting March 24th. I hadn't seen any mention of a delay, so I just assumed the DLC was still on that schedule. I guess if it comes out next Tuesday, that's still March...

Yeah, I don't know where anyone got the idea it was March 19th. The 24th has been out there for a few weeks. But wouldn't it be cool if you could walk all the way to Pittsburgh! I mean, just make it a narrow canyon, followed by a road with a pile of cars on both sides, and then a really long tunnel! Easy!

I've been at work hammering out two big operations that are occurring on the 23rd and 24th and I had gotten those dates locked into my brain. Just wait till you get older, you'll see, the first thing to go is remembering what day it is... no wait, that's the second thing to go

I'll be getting any DLC they put out. I can't get enough of the Fallout world.
I liked the simulator despite how easy it was. It was nice to see a different approach.

I didn't mind it and plan to get the other stuff. Hopefully they'll do more. One interesting side note (well except for Kathode ) is that on a blog the producer for the DLC admits that Anchorage was originally supposed to be more of an RTS then a FPS. They apparently couldn't get it to work the way they wanted it to.

I hit level 20 last night and now all progress on the game will stop much to my chagrin as I am loving it again.
I wish they would have made the extended level cap DLC the next one instead of the one after this. Surely the devs must know that people are close or already past the level cap...seems to be a no brainer to me.

Read the last few paragraphs of the blog entry Sarkus linked to, it will help explain why 'Broken Steel' is taking the most time to deliver.

I'm 5 hours in and have only done 4 quests!
I also am having a hard time with reading the pip-boy. I might change up the default color and see if it helps.
I really love the game world. What an awesome creation with such attention to detail. I am excited for Dogmeat I hope he comes soon. No one tell me though, I'll get him soon enough!
To get Dogmeat, you have to let him out of the cage in the starting area in Vault 101. If you've left and they've locked the vault door behind you, there's no going back. 5 months later and the joke got me. Started playing this over the weekend and having a blast.

For those wondering, The Pitt DLC is supposed to be released in a few hours. Just downloaded it, giving it a first look. UPDATE: Well, oops, first thing is getting there! The objective on my map is on the northern border and heck, I haven't explored anywhere near there, so I guess I gotta hoof it for awhile.

careful with this DLC. In looking over the forums, it seems that a lot of folks are reporting that it's a buggy mess right now.

I'd heard the same thing, so I'm holding off for a bit. Also, I haven't reall explored North yet, either.
