I played a few matches of each type today.  I know I tend to be a bit cynical and negative in general anyway, but it's really hard not to just rip on this game for being basically a straight up Battlefield mod.  Same UI and everything.

BLERG!

This make me sad sad sad.

But without the same UI, there is no reason to call this Battlefield at all.

Iíve been in the beta for a few days.  Itís fun if you get paired with a good group but otherwise completely unremarkable.  I didnít play a lot of Battlefield 4 but from what I did, this does just feel like a mod for that.  I would have preferred if they had toned the scale down considerably and made it less symmetrical.  It just seems silly that criminals can jump into armored trucks and helicopters minutes into a match.

I'm actually pretty glad for that delay.  That makes this one of the few true betas in recent years, where they are taking feedback from it and actually applying it to the game before it releases.

What I played of their beta didn't strike me as something that I was going to pay money for, so hopefully now they can differentiate it from core Battlefield a bit and make it shine.
