Rank doesnít mean much when it resets monthly.  My Priest deck is about 1/3 golds and I usually only play until my daily challenges run out.

But you get a boost to your ranking when it resets. I would think anyone who is halfway decent at the game (so everyone besides me) would start out each month at a fairly decent level. Surely the legendary ranks don't get reset to level 20 (I was 15 last season, got reset to 21 I think it was)? To have all gold, especially legendaries (that he played 3 or 4 of against me), means you have to play a lot. Or at least spend a lot of money, doesn't it? I mean every card was golden, even the cards like Se'jin Shieldmasta (which I read is the most common card played so the golden version is hardest to get).

I would say itís a little odd but possible if he got really lucky in Arena.
I consider myself a fairly casual player and my epics are:

Vancleef
King Krush
Jaraxxus
Baron Rivendare
Loatheb
Feugen
Stalagg
Cairne Blood Hoof (Gold)
Gelbin (Gold)
Hogger
Maexxna
Gruul (Gold)
KelíThuzad
Ragnaros (Gold)

I've spent a grand total of $5 on the game. (Mostly to get Gelbin)

Also, was he a priest?  I have a golden mind vision that always gives me a gold version of the enemy cards when I use it.  May explain some of them.  I am one of the few people who knows what a Gold Coin card looks like.  icon_biggrin

Interesting, I have already determined that I am far behind everyone else in legendaries (at least by talk here and what I see in game). I almost never play arena though, and I have spent $42 on the game (16 decks and Naxx). I can't imagine getting a gold legendary.

You should definitely save your gold for Arena.  I get 2-3 runs a week just from dailies and each run nets me 2 decks on average plus some additional dust or gold.

With the exception of Gelbin and the Naxx cards, all of my epics have been rewards from arena.

Ha, I suck at arena. Six is my best run, but usually I win 2-3.

I suck at Arena too.  My best in constructed is 11, and I agree that this season is tough so far.

If you only win 2-3 itís still a better value than buying packs outright.

Almost back to 14, though the meta is definitely more uncertain which is good.

Leeroy Jenkins and Starving Buzzard got nerfed:

Quote
Leeroy Jenkins now costs 5 (up from 4)
Starving Buzzard now costs 5 (up from 2) and now has 3 Attack and 2 Health (up from 2 Attack and 1 Health)

People complaining, of course, but I'm happy about both changes (though the Buzzard one seems pretty extreme).

The card draw you could get from Buzzard was just insane for its low cost, and with the Unleash-the-Hounds combo it happens all one one turn so there wasn't much you could do to combat it.

The Leeroy change should help combat the stupid "Miracle Rogue" Multi-Leeroy Shadowstep combo, but I don't see how the nerf will help the new stupid multi-reincarnation 5000 Leeroy thing you can do with Shaman.

Either way on Leeroy, I'm super happy because I own a Leeroy and I'm looking forward to getting the full disenchant cash so I can swap him for something else.  Now to decide what other legendary to get.

Thread resurrection...  Still playing and loving this game.  I just beat my record for a season and had to share!

Before this season rank 11 was my best, just made it to 9. Now I'm too nervous to play, lol.

Impressive.  My best is 11 and I've only gotten there a couple times.
