I finally picked up Fable, and I'm a little confused about the saved games.  I know that "Hero Saves" save your character status, items, etc, but not the state of the world and quests.  If you do a Hero Save, does everything in the game reset, i.e. all treasure chests, items, etc. or just everything you've gotten since your last regular save?  I want to collect everything without abusing this to recollect items, but it would be hard to remember what all I've gotten if everything resets everytime I do a Hero save.

It's been a while (so I'm not totally positive), but I think when you save during a quest you still have everything you got up to that point, but you have to start over at the beginning of the quest.

this was always weird to me too but here's how i think it goes.  lets say youre just wanderin the world findin random things or on the way to start a quest - if you save it saves EVERYTHING.  lets say you now open up a card and its like "go escort convey somewhere" - as soon as that quest card "opens up" - it does its own seperate lil thing - you DONT keep the stuff you get between that card openin and finishin the quest.  if you die, its like you never got it - this doesnt really mess with the world too much because most quests are kind of on a track - once they start you operate in kinda a tiny area.  basically the only way you can exploit here is to start a quest, kill a bunch of things, save before the end of the quest (youll keep all your XPs) then die.  youll reload that save, have to recollect all the stuff you just did on the quest line BUT also get to "multi-dip" on experience.  basically, if it happens between a card openin and closin - "hero" saves durin that time WILL NOT let you keep the stuff you just got.  It WILL let you keep XPs.  otherwise, if you have quests but havent moved on to startin the quest proper youll save everythin.  its more of a pain in the ass that doesnt let you save durin quests than anythin - you have to finish em in one go, if ya dont it resets (which isnt too big a deal because the actual quests are usually pretty short).

Thanks.  I wonder why they did this instead of just offering normal save-anywhere saves.  The FAQs mention some pretty big exploits you can use this system for.
