yeah, just about the same at Gamestop.  got there about 11:55, was home by 12:10.

OK, the whole interact mechanic is a bit jarring.  you walk up to someone, hit A to interact and then the camera switches to a different view, which at times can move the characters around to positions they were not in before.  you have options to interact like shake hands or belch, and then hitting B takes you out of interact mode, which then magically moves your character back to his or her original position.  a minor quibble, but it does kind of knock you out of any immersion.

Time Stop and a bunch of other little things from Fable 2 (including completely changing around how you interact with people) have been changed/removed. You now get Time Slow potions you can quaff anytime you want.

another thing I've noticed, apparently the country is poplulated by short people.  everyone I've met so far is shorter than the Princess by a full head.

I almost forgot, there was an update when I started up the game.  I just got through the first hand holding portion and didn't notice any real awkwardness with the animations, maybe they tweaked that a bit.

is anyone else having the notifications for friends and stuff pop up in the middle right hand side of the screen?  I also just had an odd bit where apparently the game dropped me into a co-op session when I started it up instead of the regular game (plus my earlier disconnection apparently erased all my progress).

I've also noticed some annoying pop ups, like the one that mentions how long my other friends have been playing.  I don't see any way to turn those off.

It's stranger once you get better skills - you'll walk up to somebody you've never seen before and immediately break into a dance routine with them, or tickle them nearly to death.

And yes, CeeKay, all notifications get bumped to the right hand side when playing Fable 3. Check the LIVE room in the Sanctuary to see if you can turn them off. Not sure if you can offhand.

yeah, the social aspect of this game is very heavy.  expect to do a lot of politicking to open stuff up on the Road to Rule.  I'm getting used to it, but it would be much more smoother if the camera didn't have to black out and switch around everytiem you do an interaction with someone.

Has anyone been able to access the items that are supposed to be available with the codes you got from pre-ordering or the ones that came with the game?  they show up in the Sanctuary shop but the game wants to charge me for them.  also, I don't see it taking the Fable 2 save into account like they said it would.  they keep on saying the previous hero was my characters father, yet I won the game with a female adventurer.

didn't see an option there, so I'm just going to turn them off at the dashboard level.  it's annoying that they couldn't put them in the upper or lower hand corners, instead they had to put them in the middle of the right hand side.

did some digging on the Fable 2 save 'import'.  apparently it checks the HD for Fable 2 saves, then uses the last played one for any in-game references.  since the last one I played was my male evil character that's what it is using, even though I never finished the game with him.  Looks like I'll be firing up my original female hero's save before starting my evil playthrough.

I haven't had that happen yet, but I did notice the counter for various actiosn (like the one that showed how many hands you needed to shake for what turned out to be an achievement) don't always show.  the game is growing on me (took me a few hours to get used to the changes in Fable 2 before it clicked too) but it does really feel like they needed a few more months of polish.  there's small things that catch my eye, like seams in the characters hair or in the landscape, that really shouldn't be there.

that said, with each game Pete's minimized the interface and simplified the control scheme, so it wouldn't surprise me if Fable 4 was a Kinect only title

after googling what janky means I'm not sure I'd apply that to Fable 2.  Fable 3 has some pretty different mechanics that will take some time to get used to, so right now the only thing I'd consider 'janky' is the small stuff I've mentioned (like the interact camera).  Like I said though, even Fable 2 took a few horus to properly click with me and I even though I haven't had that much time with Fable 3 yet I'm already taking a shine to it.

I haven't found the extra region yet.

2 questions:

1.  Are the pre-order items any good?  I forgot to pre-order so I'm hoping they just help in the early game or something.  Doesn't look like there are any LE versions left.

2.  Did they get rid of the shot-putting Russian female toons, as Peter Molyneux put it?

How do you drag someone to work?  I have to drag 8 villagers to work and don't know how/where.

I'm pretty sure Fable 2 didn't really have one either, or if it did you never really needed it.

In Fable 2, the only map was the one in the pause menu.  Otherwise, you were using the glowing line or your dog.  Or frequent pausing.

Well, I'd start a new Fable III impressions thread but although I picked up the vanilla game and the collector's edition guide (go figure) and installed it, I never did get around to playing since I am still deep in FONV. Man, you gotta love those weeks from the start of fall till Thanksgiving!

Nope. Definitely isn't one. Which was an annoyance of mine, as the stylized one is next to worthless for finding things.

how do you kill chickens? I can just kick them, they are immune to everything else even with safety off.  I have to kill 100 to advance a weapon.

I'm having trouble seeing why you would use the default morphing hero weapon when the legendary weapons seem so much better.  I know they mentioned part of the morphing system was because they didnt' want any weapon to be superior to another, just different, but when a legendary weapon can do 2x the damage of the normal AND give bonuses on top of that it's a bit of a no brainer which to use.
