Once again, all the big games are coming out within 3 months.  It looks to be an expensive season.  The price doesn't bother me nearly as much as knowing I'll have no time to play any of these.  The big games I want, roughly in order:

- Medieval Total War 2
- Neverwinter Nights 2
- Star Wars Empire at War Expansion Forces of Corruption
- Warhammer 40k Expansion Dark Crusade
- Company of Heroes
- Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
- Battlefield 2142
- Star Trek Legacy

Add that to the must have 360 titles:
- Madden 07
- Lega Star Wars II
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance
- Gears of War

I can't afford all of them, let alone find the time!  The problem is that a few big guns are coming out in the spring too:

- Supreme Commander
- Quake Wars

Anyone else going to have a busy/expensive fall?

To be honest it is looking like my fall won't be too bad.  From the ones you have listed I plan on buying three:

- Neverwinter Nights 2
- Lega Star Wars II
- Gears of War

Not much else interests me this fall so far.

Dark Messiah and NWN2 are the only ones on that list I'm interested in and both can be Christmas presents as far as I'm concerned. So I'm good.  icon_wink

Hmm, off the top of my head, I will be purchasing:

Xenosaga 3
Okami
Valkyrie Profile 2
Contact
Yakuza (maybe, depending on reviews)
Final Fantasy XII
Final Fantasy V Advance
Final Fantasy III DS
Summon Night 2
Super Robot Taisen 2
Gears of War
Neverwinter Nights 2
Dark Messiah (might wait for a PC upgrade though)
SMT Devil Summoner
Enchanted Arms (might wait for price drop)
Yoshi's Island 2
NFS Carbon (assuming it's as good as Most Wanted)
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Children of Mana
Hotel Dusk (if it comes out in the fall)
Lunar Knights
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops (if the December date holds)
Yggdra Union
Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Disgaea 2 *
Rainbow 6 Vegas (assuming it's good)
Guitar Hero 2
Dragon Quest Rocket Slime
Tales of the Abyss

* I'll actualy hold off on this one until next year since I just won't have time to devote to a 100+ hour game with everything else coming out.

Calvin, Rogue Galaxy is looking to be a January release. Although I guess that's technically winter, I guess I assumed we were talking pre-Christmas.

I'll likely be getting all of the following:

- Lego Star Wars II
- Neverwinter Nights 2
- Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade

The first I'll be purchasing day of release.  The rest can likely wait for Christmas.

For me this isn't just expensive, this is going to be a BRUTAL Fall/Winter.  I average 1-3 PC game purchases per year, yet this year, I might average 20...  I said on another forum, that IMO, 2006 will be the best PC gaming year in nearly a decade.

- Company of Heroes
- Savage 2
- Medieval Total War 2
- Gothic 3
- Battle for Middle Earth 2 Expansion
- Silent Hunter 4
- Stronghold Legends
- Lego Star Wars 2
- Settlers 2 10th Anniversary Edition
- The Guild 2
- Galactic Civilizations II Expansion
- Anno 1701
- Star Wars Empire at War Expansion Forces of Corruption
- Warhammer 40k Expansion Dark Crusade
- Company of Heroes
- Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
- Battlefield 2142
- Star Trek Legacy
- Splinter Cell Double Agent
- Need for Speed Carbon
- Paraworld

Oooh, I didn't know that. Is this a recent delay or something I just missed? Oh well, cross one great RPG off the list for this year!

PC:

-Gothic 3 (though I imagine it'll be delayed)
-Galactic Civilizations II Expansion (depends on what it adds, from reading some of Brad's posts it sounds like the game will come closer to MoO2, which means I'd buy it)
-Warhammer 40k: Dark Crusade (Necrons = instant purchase)
-Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (depends on how long it is/reviews)
-Battlefield 2142 (instant purchase, though I realize it'll probably be a buggy wreck to begin with...)
-Neverwinter Nights 2 (definitely waiting on reviews)

PS2:

-Disgaea 2 (despite how trendy the hate is)
-Final Fantasy XII (duh)
-Valkyrie Profile 2 (waiting on reviews)
-Okami (apparently it's kicking ass in reviews)

Also pondering:
-Wii + Twilight Princess + Metroid Prime 3 + Monkeyball
-XBox360 + Dead Rising + Chromehounds + FFXI + GRAW + Halo 2 + who knows what else

It's a recent delay; this is one of my top wanted games right now, and I couldn't wait for this fall when it was supposed to be out, but recently saw on a lot of release lists that it'll be January now. frown

That's actually good.  It'll give me time to finish up FF12.  Still of the two I'd rather have Rogue Galaxy this fall.

My list was really pre-Christmas, which is why I left Rogue Galaxy off.  I'd love to see it slip till Feb even, so I can really sit down and enjoy it.  Some of the other console games I'm mixed on.  I don't think I can get excited for another Final Fantasy, but maybe.  The demo left me a bit cold.

Just watched the latest Dark Messiah of Might and Magic trailer, and now I'm really looking forward to it.  Hopefully it plays as well as it looks.

I can't even consider grabbing the Wii, to much else out there!  Star Wars Lego II and Marvel Alliance will keep me and the kids busy on the 360 as well for a bit.

Yeah, I think that was Sony's rationale- there are a lot of high profile RPGs coming from existing series this fall (with FFXII being the grandaddy of them all) so an October release probably wasn't the best time to try and establish a new IP.  While I'm looking forward to FFXII more than Rogue Galaxy, I'm excited enough for RG that I do wish we were getting it sooner rather than later.

Gamestop has Rogue Galaxy coming out 1/30.  Ar Tonelico from NIS America was also delayed until next year due to the glut of releases. I'll be getting -
Baten Kaitos : Origins
Final Fantasy III DS
Final Fantasy XII
Legend of Zelda : Twilight Princess
Magical Starsign
Neverwinter Nights 2
Phantasy Star Universe
Sega Genesis Collection
SMT : Devil Summoner
Tales of The Abyss
Valkyrie Profile : Silmeria
Xenosaga 3 (eventually)

and maybe -
Children of Mana

I'm only seeing a couple must-buys so far:

-Lego Star Wars II
-Gears of War
-Savage 2 (almost forgot this one!)
-Sam & Max (oops...I did forget this one)

and then maybe a few others if I get a good deal on them (although likely waiting until after Christmas):
-Crackdown (waiting for reviews)
-Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
-Battlefield 2142 (likely waiting to see reviews and for first patch at least)
-NFS: Carbon (the forum effect may make me grab it if it's that good)
-Half-Life Episode 2 (I doubt this will make it this year)
-Splinter Cell: Double Agent

I'm not sure how you guys can say you are going to be buying 20-30 games within a few months.  That's over $1000 and innumerable hours that you won't have to dedicate to every game.

My list:

360:
Gears of War
Need for Speed Carbon
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Forza Motorsport 2 (if it doesn't get delayed)
Splinter Cell: Double Agent

PC:
Battlefield 2142
Dawn of War: Dark Crusade Expansion
Paraworld

And while that's still a mildly expensive bunch I think it's spread out just enough that I won't hate myself in December.

No love for Sam and Max and Broken Sword 4?

Apart from those 2, NWN2, Dark Messiah and Gothic 3 are most haves. I'll also be picking up GTA:Vice city storys, though that looks like the only decent PSP game out the remainder of the year.

Please seperate consoles from PC games, trying to look up games I never heard of is breaking my head open.  I have little interest in console stuff aside from Wii.

After this year, I predict a *VERY* slow 2007/2008 seasons..  Most of the epic shit coming out this year, has been in development for the last 2-3 years and it is all coming in like a tidal wave.  These are the big guns, the stuff they have been working on with dream teams in many studios.

Therefore, I expect I will be playing the games that arrive and have arrived this year, for the next few years.  No harm in that, we STILL play Savage and Battle Realms in these parts.  thumbsup

- Stronghold Legends
- Galactic Civilizations II Expansion
- Star Wars Empire at War Expansion Forces of Corruption

2007/2008 may be slow on the PC, but they will be monsters on the consoles.  Holiday 2007 alone will see GTA4 and Halo 3 and we might even see FFXIII in 2007 (though I suspect only in Japan with US release in '08).  With all three next gen consoles on the market and developers getting up to speed, high profile games will be a dime a dozen.

2007, off the top of my head:
Unreal Tournament 2007
Crisis
Stalker (hey, it might still be good. either way, it *was* a AAA title)
Supreme Commander
Hellgate:London
Warhammer:Mark of Chaos
Bioshock

And this is all stuff that is supposed to happen in the first quarter.  While maybe these titles mean nothing to you, All of them have been in development for some time, and are the AAA project for their company, so they fit the bill.

Supreme Commander and Hellgate: London are probably my most anticipated games in years.  If Hellgate is even in Diablo 2's league, I'll be a very happy camper smile.  Supreme Commander looks like an all-timer as well.

The Saint's Row demo was pretty good.  There are to many other good games coming out for me to look at Saint's Row though.  If Saint's Row was released in the summer during a gaming drought, then I'd grab it, but when against all the other AAA stuff?  Nah.

I put both systems in originally.  I made the post in this forum simply because there were more PC games I was looking forward to, then console ones.  Party because I'm getting a new computer soon.
