I am still slugging my way through KOTOR (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic) and enjoying every minute of it.  Let's face it - Bioware RULEZ!

I'm down for KOTOR2.

I'm down for Jade Empire.

All Bioware games have a great plot and I really, really, REALLY enjoy the fact that even difficult never begins button smashing since you can set the game to pause between rounds or just pause the action yourself and reassess the situation.

CHEERS TO BIOWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed KOTOR as well.  It's a great game.  However, I found the lack of facial expressions from all characters in the game somewhat disturbing, especially when a character's dialog was emotional (**SPOILERS**having Bastilla express her love to my character with that same stoic look on her face was somewhat creepy**SPOILERS**).

I don't think all Bioware games have a great plot, though.  I made it through all of Act 1 of Neverwinter Nights before calling it quits, and found everything in that game boring, including the story.

If facial expression is your only complaint then I say that KOTOR succeeded!

The original NWN campaign is pretty much universally trashed.  The story is terribly boring.  I really enjoyed the two expansions, and there are some great user-made mods.  I think the most recent expansion improved the ability to mod a great deal.  I've had a lot of fun with it.

Bioware is a well-respected company.  I watched the Jade Empire E3 vid on GameTrailers, and thought it looked fun.  I am actually more enamored with the top-down shooter mini-game than the actual game.  I'm sure I'll pick it up and enjoy it.  I think they will be pulling out all the stops, as they are trying to create their own franchise games instead of relying on licensed properties.

What other Bioware games have you actually played, to make this all-encompassing statement that ALL of their games are totally awesome?  As was said above, NWN had a really poor story and campaign.  And what about MDK2?  Or Shattered Steel?

And Bioware isn't making KOTOR 2.

'ey, now. MDK2 was a very good game. There hasn't been a single Bioware game, that I haven't loved. That includes Neverwinter Nights. Though, I should say that while I was disappointed by the main campaign, the actual toolset has delivered some excellent and worthwhile modules for me to play. And the expansions are better, so it's a catch-22.

Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 + Expansions, MDK2, and Knights of the Old Republic are all games I loved at the time. For me, the company is at the top of my list, and I'll purchase any a game they release on the first day.

I should note - I never played Shattered Steel, however.

And yes, KOTOR 2 is not being done by Bioware, but Obsidian, which I'm even more excited about.

I really enjoyed the heck out of MDK2.  It's fun and full of humor.  It could be infuriatingly difficult at times, but it was an enjoyable experience!

I haven't played Shattered Steel, either.  Apparently nobody has.

I still feel that they are one of the quality developers that have earned enough respect and clout in the industry to make the products they want on their own time table.  I think their recent deals with Microsoft have shown just how much more beneficial it is not to rush a product and polish it as needed before release.  The games, and (in the eye of the publisher, even more importantly) the sales speak for themselves.

I can't say all their games are awesome, but the ones I have played are very much money well spent.  I don't know too many devs I can say the same about.

Shattered Steel is an old mech simulator action game from the time of Mechwarrior 2 (1996 is when it came out, I believe).  I played a demo of it back then.  It's fun, but nothing special.  Kinda generic.

I love Bioware RPGs. Neverwinter Nights, while far from perfect, was a lot of fun. Baldur's Gate was fantastic. Absolutely the most epic thing I've ever played. I really gotta sit down and play Throne of Bhaal.

Never played any of their action games.

Jade Empire isn't on my want list, mostly because I'm not a big fan of samurais and ninjas. Too many other games I'd like to play.

I'm not sure if you just mean it's the Asian theme in general you don't like, but if it's just samurais and ninjas, Jade Empire doesn't have either.  Jade Empire is based on Chinese myths and legends, while those are Japanese.  While there are a lot of games based on Japan, China hasn't been used much, so it should provide an interesting setting.
