I recognize that by posting this, I probably lessen my chances, but...

Gamespot Complete offers a free 7 day trial
They are awarding the slots this Friday and will announce by Monday...
Figure out the rest on your own.

Cost of a Gamespot Complete Account: $6.95 / month

Satisfaction in canceling the account before being billed and still receiving a beta slot: Priceless

Repent, heathens!  World of Warcraft views these actions with disapproval...

mmorpg.com is having an eq2 beta give away tomorrow and registration is free. I registered there a few months ago because they're always having contests like this and they occasionally have longer than normal trials for various mmorpg's.

I'll be trying the WoW beta too, once it opens.  The winner takes all.

Or $29 a year, which is just $2.50/month and well worth it.

I dunno about using the gamespot trial for that.  It's the same reason I don't take that Hyperspace 7-day trial from starwars.com.  Is it really worth it to give up a 7-day free sub I can possibly try later yet?

The answer for both Starwars and Gamespot is: No.  Everquest 2 beta isn't that exciting to me.  Neither is the stuff on Star Wars.com.  When something REALLY good comes along, like say final Episode III Trailer (and access to all the other cool content they've had since they switched to pay) or the "Ultimate Game Closed Beta That I Cannot Get Into Any Other Way But Really Want To" on Gamespot I'll take it.

Remember:  you're not even guarenteed a spot in the Gamespot EQ2 beta.  You're only entered in a drawing.
