I own a PS3. If you call me a hater for starting a perfectly normal thread I will make it my mission to terrorize you. End disclaimer.

gi.biz is reporting that Eidos has pushed back all major PS3 releases until 2008.

Quote
Eidos has confirmed that it won't be releasing most of its major PS3 titles until next year, stating that the console's installed base will not be high enough before then.

As part of a statement released alongside the company's interim results for the six months ended December 31 2006, CEO Jane Cavanagh said, "We believe that PlayStation 3 will be a successful platform, and are developing technology and products for this console.

"However, as we do not believe that the installed base will be high enough until the second half of our 2008 financial year, most of our major product releases on the PlayStation 3 platform are not scheduled before that date."

While I am not sure Eidos has any significant PS3 games that we are all looking forward to, its definitely a short term issue for Sony, if minor.

Ugh, game reporting sucks.  This isn't new- this is confirmation of six month old news that GI.biz itself reported back in September.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks like the difference is that the new announcment refers specifically to the 2nd half of FY08.

Ooh, good call.  I stand by my assertion that game reporting sucks though.

Both Tomb Raider Legend and Hitman Blood Money did quite well.

Give the guys who host us some exception to that Kevin!  icon_wink ( I agree in principal though, I just pasted a link because it was new to me).

Oh sure there always is and will be exceptions.  And I definitely wasn't picking on you, just GI.biz who should have linked the previous article and could have put the delay in context.

Well, in addition to the Hitman series Eidos did publish Just Cause and the sequel is being worked on (I was a fan, I know not everyone was). They also have Kane & Lynch, Age of Conan, Crossfire and the rumored Fear Effect 3 in development.

Plus, we can always hope for sequels to 25 to Life and Reservoir Dogs, right?  slywink

Eidos is one of my least-respected publishers.  I really don't care.

Battlestations Midway is quite good.

And Tomb Raider: Legends was pretty fun too.
