Legend of Zelda, talking about world creation.  Sounds like they are going to expand the world out a lot

Looks gorgeous, too.

They are taking a page from Skyrim.  "Walk to those mountains."   Nice.

They said this same thing in Witcher 3 last night, IIRC

Link is in aqua, not green.  And he looked even more feminine than usual.

To the point that I wonder if this isn't a new character (or at least our first female Link).

They did.  LoZ looks amazing.  and not in a 'for a WiiU game' amazing.  odd to think of an open world zelda game.

Bayonetta 2 will include Bayonetta 1.

I may make it through the first one this time.

Did Bayonetta get a haircut at the end of the first game?

I'm excited about Hyrule Warriors, but this presentation is fluffy and boring.

They're saying the same things over and over.

Looks like they're resurrecting one of the best Kirby games from the original DS in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.

Xenoblade Chronicles and now something called Mario Maker which is looking like Mario meets Little Big Planet in which you design your own Mario levels.

That could be cool, though the clip was a little bland feeling, IMO.

And now Splatoon, which is 4x4 area control action game where you're spraying an area with your color, trying to dominate with your color.  Also, you can switch between a shooting human and a squid (who can swim in the colored ink).

You can also use the evolving Wii U pad map to hop to your allies' location.

Lots of innovative ideas in this one.  I think this could be something.

Also, 2015.

Apart from Splatoon, which didn't look like much of anything when it started and turned into the game I'm most interested in, this didn't do enough.

Like everyone else, too many games coming in 2015.  And not enough surprises.  Not even enough expected reveals (although Zelda looked cool).

And nothing about price drops or early adopters reward programs.

Still, there was very little that didn't interest me at least a little, and some of it looked quite cool.

Also, Nintendo does tend to leave some stuff for the show floor, so we'll see if there's more.

Man, Nintendo really knocked that shit out of the park.  Of course a lot of those are 2015 titles, but at least they are showing people what they really want to see is actually being made.

I thought the exact opposite. There was nothing in that presentation that made me want to buy a WiiU anytime soon. I can wait for Zelda to come out. No price drop, no Metroid  thumbsdown

Nintendo digital conference was kinda fun. Liked the crazy beginning and the little Robot Chicken segments.

Don't have a Wii U but suspect I'll be getting one when that Zelda comes out. Looks amazing but when the action started it was basically cut sequences. Still loved the style of it and the direction.

Only other games that looked interesting to me were the Yoshi one and the Sploosh or whatever that last one was. Interesting concept for a multiplayer game and can see it being fun.

Was hoping for a another Metroid 3D game but oh well.

As far as I could tell there was no gameplay footage in that.

It is neat that they are doing an open world but I didn't really need it.  I am happy with some hand holding and guidance.

As others have pointed out, this really does seem to be the running theme this year.  I'm getting the feeling that major developers have been caught off-guard by the fact that AAA development on these new consoles is not only substantially more expensive, but also way more time-intensive.

On the plus side, with games like The Witcher 3, Persona 5, Arkham Knight, Zelda WiiU, Uncharted 4, The Order 1886, Halo 5, and others that I'm surely forgetting, 2015 is going to be a freaking incredible year for gaming!

Dragon Age Inquisition gameplay being shown now.  fighting a dragon looks more involved than in Skyrim.  target individual limbs.  The world looks pretty large.

funny, the description of the plot sounds like a mix of Oblivion and Skyrim.  Demon worlds and dragons.

I haven't caught up on the sony presser, but I saw a good 30+ minutes, and have to say, if we're keeping score, Sony wins it again.  Now I just have to wait until the games I want to play but can't on the PC is available, then I'll buy the ps4

Come back when you've watched the whole thing.  It's decidedly less obvious.

I'm back, and I stand by my comments.  Pretty impressive lineup, great support of the console for games and non-games.  Just gotta wait for the games to be released.  Next year is going to be great!

The new Zelda game looks great.  I likely will never own another Nintendo console and hold to the opinion, they are actually making an enormous mistake.

If they wanted to print money (moreso than they do now), they would:

1) Release classics etc. on ios (such a no brainer that anyone at Nintendo that shot this idea down should be fired immediately)
2) Keep making portable systems
3) Scrap consoles and make games for both next gen systems (of course this won't happen)

The absolute only thing that has ever been good about Nintendo from 2000 on is their first party games.  They would sell shit-loads if they would just suck up their pride and do it.

Just my opinion, and for the record I owned the NES, SNES, Wii & original GBA.

This discussion may be better in another thread, but seeing the new Zelda brought it all out smile

I'm surprised that theirs no Activision Press Conference.  In fact the only game I can think of that they make is Call of Duty series, and Blizzard stuff.  Did they fall off the map in the last few years?  they used to have a huge presence.

Activision hasn't done one in a long time.  Konami used to do one but stopped a few years back.  Deep Silver, Namco, Capcom, Square Enix, and Sega also don't have them.

If they were ever going to do one this would be the year they would.  IIRC, they will release more games this year than previous years by a long shot.  I bought their stock in early Jan., and hope it keeps rolling smile

Activision is really starting to notice how they've got almost no IPs to offer. A press conference by them would end up being nothing but Blizzard and Call of Duty, so I think they'd rather just save themselves the embarrassment. Their core customers don't care about E3 anyway.

Yup, and now we've together exhausted their library of active IPs that aren't Blizzard's. Activision is a one-trick pony, and they know it. It's a damned successful one-trick pony, and maybe a doomed one, but a one-trick pony nonetheless.

yeah.  search for "inside playdead" without quotes.  Not sure what possessed them to go with such a generic one world name, but they did make Limbo, after all.

I missed, but any idea what the two unannounced MS titles were?

I see that was Halo and Forza Horizon 2.

Twitch is showing Xenoblade Chronicles X.  looks good, but they went to the amnesiac hero well.  they also set the opening sequence of the game in the dark. You'd think they'd chosen a brighter area to showcase.
