just under two months away, and already Nintendo is shaking things up  icon_wink

Quote
At E3 this year, we are not planning to launch new hardware, and our main activity at E3 will be to announce and have people experience our software. Many people are certainly very interested in learning more about the Wii U titles that we are going to announce. We will use E3 as an ideal opportunity to talk in detail mainly about the Wii U titles that we are going to launch this year, and we also plan to make it possible for visitors to try the games immediately. As a brand new challenge, we are working to establish a new presentation style for E3.

First, we decided not to host a large-scale presentation targeted at everyone in the international audience where we announce new information as we did in the past.
Instead, at the E3 show this year, we are planning to host a few smaller events that are specifically focused on our software lineup for the U.S. market. There will be one closed event for American distributors, and we will hold another closed hands-on experience event, for mainly the Western gaming media. Also, I did not speak at last year’s presentation, and I am not planning to speak at these events at the E3 show this year either. Apart from these exclusive events for visitors, we are continuing to investigate ways to deliver information about our games directly to our home audience around the time of E3. We will share more information about them once they have officially been decided.
During the E3 period, we will utilize our direct communication tools, such as Nintendo Direct, to deliver information to our Japanese audience, including those who are at this financial briefing, mainly focusing on the software that we are going to launch in Japan, and we will take the same approach outside Japan for the overseas fans as well.

not to surprising since they seem to be having a Nintendo Direct event every other week.

In other E3 related news, I'm sure Valve has said there will be no Episode 3/Half Life 3 at the show already  icon_lol

Well of course no hardware. They have one massively struggling system that they need to boost up with more first party software.

But there's been no word on the Vitality Sensor.  Surely that counts as hardware.

Yeah, Valve is really hurting. Tongue

Most E3 titles are 5-17 months out from the Expo. I find that titles due to launch in 2 months are overlooked over the ones that are "down the road".

It was more the deception that ticked people off. The code hijinks and nowhere near complete when they swore they were getting ready.

Good, Sony should still have some surprises as well, they do have more first party studios, and besides a few early deals, no third party does exclusives anymore unless they are paid through the nose for it.

Well, I'm just looking forward to actual gameplay, especially Infamous SS.

Nintendo was trying to differentiate itself by focusing its conference to gamers instead of publishers.  If you’re actually interested in playing some of the games they will have on display you may want to check out your local BestBuy.  Bestbuy is doing a promo where, during the conference, you will be able to play many of the games on display on units in the stores.

Can check availability here.

And remember, these aren't necessarily all exclusives. Microsoft has always shown games like Fallout 3 or Call of Duty at their conferences, and they mostly end up being multiplatform. Even so, my god, E3 is going to be amazing.

I can't wait. biggrin

I predict Nintendo will come out of E3 looking the best. MS will continue to be a PR disaster, Sony will probably jump into that pool and Nintendo will probably show up with a new Zelda game along with some Pikmin and other lovable franchises.

22 games on that list 12 have a 2 or higher next to them. 3 could have a number or are in the same universe as a previous game. Not a lot that looks that new and fresh.

Hopefully with a new a new gen coming we may get a few more looks at new stuff rather than sequels as well.

T add some of the numbers ar up to 5 already yet having not played many of them at 3 or 4 im not getting excited over them as an old jaded gamer i want some new blood please.
