You did indeed.  Though I've come close to editing several posts by accident today since "Modify" is now enabled for ALL posts and I accidentally click it instead of "Quote".

Dammit- speaking of which I just did exactly that to your last post.  Need to start paying better attention to which buttons I click....

Wow, you guys are gullible..(sp) Tongue

Just because there is a teaser trailer, doesn't mean it's any closer to release... Didn't we go down this path already and it turned out to be a dead end? Until I hear from at least 51% of the GT population that they have it, installed it, and finished it, I won't believe it's really out....

No, more like question your sanity.

Kidding aside... I guess that raises a good question: bust... or no bust?

Nope, your sexuality would be quite secure by being excited for DNF, especially considering the stripper content of the last few DNF games.  Heck, they even mocapped strippers for this installment.

In all honesty, I think it'll be a decent game.  All the hype for the game was generated more by is absence, so this isn't a diakatana situation beyond the huge delay.

I expect they're queuing up the "Duke Nukem will make you his bitch" ad campaign. slywink

I, for one, hope they get this right and recapture the "Big trouble in little china" feel that the first one had.

Oh, and I'd like to see the Bionic Commando game behave much like the Q2 deathmatch with grappling hooks did. (forget the mod name).

I think it's safe to say the buzz of anticipation wore off about 9 years ago (to be generous).  Tongue

I do recall Duke Nukem 3D almost ruined my life completely in 1996. At one point I was dragging into my newspaper job about 1 p.m. (!) some weekdays and my co-workers were wondering what the heck was going on with me (I was playing DN3D til 4 a.m., often in modem co-op games with a former college chum). It's safe to say I pushed my flexible work schedule to the brink. saywhat

I was 30 then, 42 now, and I'm afraid my gaming tastes don't quite go down that same channel anymore.

Just watched the trailer.  Couple of things:

-the whole sequence of the camera circling around Duke - let's just say I went to a Art Institute of Portland portfolio show and the dudes that were in game design there had demonstrations that looked a whole heck of a lot better.

-they blew up the American flag at the end!  How dare they!

But yeah, looks lame.

I'm at work, so no trailer watching for me until I get home (as the lack of a speaker system, well, sucks). I'll watch it at least if somebody has a link handy. biggrin

Wednesday, December 19, 2007 10:00 AM - A new teaser trailer for Duke Nukem Forever is released.
Wednesday, December 19, 2007 10:05 AM - The gaming world responds with a hearty, "meh."

Tim asked the rather pointed question "Okay, who's bright idea was to use .mov format for the DNF video? I don't have Quicktime on these POS PCs."
To which I calmly explained "Well, you see...back in the old days, Quicktime was popular.  In fact, right about the same time that Duke Nuke'em was popular.  So, in context it makes sense."

Seriously....quicktime?

And before anybody asks - yes, I truly have POS work machines. XP running with 512MB of RAM. And a speaker hole (just one) that's on the side of the PC case. You make the call how miserable my work experience is if I dare to multitask. Tongue

I still laugh till I cry at THIS DNF ventrillo server verbal assault hehehe. Its  NSFW due to language. Some guy in Vent starts using Duke voice clips to harrass some bi%$#. Really pisses her off till near the end she's freaking out. Goes on like 40 minutes heheh.

That certainly didn't show much.  I was hoping that if they were going to break their "silence" that they would blow me away.  Or at least show me more than two tiny snips of possible game footage.

I wasn't expecting more than a teaser trailer, personally, and that's what this was.

I think they might have been better served stealthing it out, though, instead of announcing it.

Seems like they've got an uphill battle on their hands.  People appear to resent Duke nowadays.  It's been a long time since he was cool.
