This has to be cheap now. Does anyone recommend it at a cheap price(10-20 bucks)? I know when it came out it was buggy etc, but from what I`ve read they fixed most of those issues, is that true? I loved the first one, but I really don`t have any idea of what to expect here. That`s gotta be a good thing. Any comments?

If you want Deus Ex 2, you'll hate Deus Ex: Invisible War.

Conversely, if you take it on it's own merits without comparing it to the inflated view most people have of the original, it's quite good.
I liked the first one.
I liked the second one.

It's 10 bucks now at EB Games. It was like $3 for awhile but it's gone back up now.

I`m not really expecting much. I did see that it was 10 bucks. Wow $3 would have been nice though. I`ll read up on the reviews. Thanks.

I loved the first Deus Ex. It's one of my top 3-4 games ever. I played it twice and will probably give it another go in the next year. I also played the sequel. I recommend it with some reservations...
You need a pretty beefy computer to run it. It runs like ass. On a good computer it can look pretty good though.
Do not think of it as a sequel as it plays similar to the first but is very different. It's definitely "consolized" as some would say. I'd say unnecessarily simplified. I went into it expecting a decent game and that's what I got. If I expected another game of the high quality as the first Deus Ex I'd have been pretty disappointed.
The story was fine - nothing earth-shattering. It was fun seeing some things and people from the first Deus Ex show up again.
The first Deus Ex was an absolute A+ in my book. Invisible War is a B.
Your mileage might vary.

One other thing harpua: if you have a decent computer, get the fan-made texture pack. Like morrowind, fans made better looking content for the game because they didn't have to worry about a console's limitations.

Anyone got the file someplace other than GS DLX? I don't want to mess with their custom software.

hey also if youre jonesin for some deus ex action and sorta turned off by the idea of a "dumbed down" version (though i actually did enjoy IW on xbox - it was fun but not great and not "really" quite like the first) check out System Shock 2 - this game is awesome!!! play it and love it

SS2 was a great game. And I do have a beefy enough PC I believe. DX:IW is mine! I`ll grab it soon before it disappears from shelves, but play it in a few months once this backlog is gone  .

I liked IW. My only real disappointment was with blade weapons; the sword was uber in DX, but in this one it was... annoying.
You had no real way of knowing if your attack hit or not, since the sound effect was the same either way, and it also seemed kinda weak. Punching, on the other hand, kicks major butt, and also has the side benefit of being non-lethal.
Personally, I found some of the sub-plots to be both funny and very deep.

Deus Ex is one of my all time favorite games, yet I like Invisible War. Decent game, and better then most of the rubbish released these days. It's nowhere near as good as the first game, but in my opinion not a lot is.
Invisble War is worth buying, but If you haven't brought Thief 3 I'd get that instead.

I`m about to replay thief3 soon for a second time, but thanks for the suggestion. I agree it`s a great game. I`m going to grab BIA for Xbox today I`ll see if EB has DX:IW. Thanks.

SS2 should run just fine under Windows XP. I got around to playing it late and it was on an XP.

I think System Shock generally runs ok on XP the problem with some of the Dark Engine games (Thief and SS2) is newer video drivers. I reached a point where nvidia's drivers left those games behind.

I played the whole thing on my XP2100 with 512 RAM and a 128mb GF4ti4200. I ran it in 800X600 which was fine for me. Most of the details were medium.

I replayed SS2 on my current rig last year, it ran fine. I also played it under Windows 2000 prior to that.
