Apparently this is a big deal? Never played the original.

Yeah, the original was one of those surprisingly awesome games back in the NES days.  Seeing this is being done by WayForward hopefully means that it will be real quality as well.

Also, that Tim Schafer quote was great.  smile

Scrooge's voice actor is now 94 years old but he still came into the studio and did his thing like a pro. The voice work really adds a lot to the package.

That is just awesome.

It's Wilbur from Mr. Ed, which is even more amazing.

debating which version of this to buy:  360 or Wii U for the controller, or maybe just grab it off of Steam.  of course the 360 version has t-shirts for your Avatar; kinda wish they had gone with a top-hat and cane though...

Hmm, that kind of shows how much interruption there is in modern games.  Hopefully you can skip all of that mid-level dialog and pausing of actual gameplay.

been seeing some reviews:

7 out of 10 from IGN

3 out of 5 from Joystiq

4.5 out of 10 from Gamespot

5 out of 10 from Edge

5 out of 10 from Polygon

4.5 out of 5 from Gamesradar

4.5 out of 5 from The Escapist

I'm leaning towards waiting on a sale now.

Well, I already got it at a discount to 25% off via Green Man Gaming, so I have no complaints. Now to find the time to play it.

This was the only game I pre-ordered during the PSN Summer of Buy Our Games or whatever for the discount.  I figured it was a no-brainer, guaranteed to be a hit with critics.  I've been shaking my fist over the last couple of days.  I don't really have a nostalgia factor for either the game or the show, either, unfortunately.

It's up there now.  Tongue  Although I guess with the launch of the Xbox One we'll have to get used to this no longer being a platform requirement.  Damnit, Microsoft!

I guess this is getting a patch alongside their retail release, fixing some of the pogo mechanics and allowing users to skip most of the cutscenes (which was my most hated feature of the demo and all videos I've seen).
