DS games for a 3 1/2 year old

My son is or will be 3 1/2 by Christmas and wants Santa to bring him a DS. I know he's rather young for one but all of our friends children (the youngest being 5) have them and he's the only one that does not have one and this is where he came up with wanting one. So anyways I'm leaning towards getting the 3DS because of the recent price drop, but really have not a clue on what games would be suitable for him. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe the Littlest Petshop or Nintendogs games.

It's not a game, but Art Academy for the DS is a nice drawing program. Racing games also seem easier for children to understand. I think he'll probably struggle with most games, so anything where you can still achieve something even if you fail would work. I'd recommend LEGO Rock Band for DS because children respond to music and it has a no fail option, but some of the songs would probably not be appropriate for a child that young.

The first Kirby game on the DS game is really great and fun - even for adults. Kirby: Canvas Curse. Should be really cheap now if you can find it. Now that I think about it, it may actually be hard to find. I'm sure there are tons of DS games good for kids. My Spanish Coach! Mario Kart DS

I can't remember if you can disable the 3D completely via software setting in the menus. If you can't, I would not buy a 3DS for a child that age. The slider is too easy to move by accident.
