I'd like to offer my thanks for you guys clicking the Google ads.  Those few extra clicks makes all the difference in the world.

On that note, I actually found something kinda cool but also kinda not on those Google Ads.  I like that they are bringing back classic transformers, but I'm not too thrilled with the look of Optimus Prime.  Damn it, why are the cool toys so hard to find?!  (And if you do find em, why are they so expensive?!)

you must've missed the bus on the Gen 1 re-issue. They're limited edition re-releases of the original transformers. They're exactly the same as they're original counterparts. I'd go into your local Toys R Us and look for transformers, you'll probably see series 3 or 4 now, most of them run 29.99 for the middle sized guys, 49.99 or more for the larger guys like Optimus, and I don't think I've seen any re-issue of the smaller guys.

Hasbro is also running a toy series called transformers universe, where you can get a multiplicity of different transformers across all the new series; Beast Wars, Energon, Armada and Original.

I've been very tempted to pick up Jazz, he was one of my favorites as a kid.

It's just a crying shame they killed so many of the great ones during the movie. I don't think I've had so many of my dreams killed in a single two hour period as I did watching that in the theaters. And Rodimus Prime was a be-yotch, for the record. biggrin

I always thought that Rodimus could have been cool if he turned to the dark side.  Kind of like when wrestlers give those long speeches about not being appreciated and how they've found a group that understands them.  Picture it!  He could clothesline Prime and then rub his chest until the little black sticker shows...what's this?!?...a Decepticon insignia!  The crowd is going crazy!

Similarly, I always thought it would be great if Luigi ever turned on Mario.  Install him as the secret last guy in a game.  The man would finally get his day in the sun.

I'm sorry folks, but Soundwave is, and has always been, supreme. That is all.

Was that the one who'd turn into a portable cassette player?

<geek> The blue one?!? Ghh. I am saddened by the lack of Soundwave worship/knowledge. As opposed to Autobot's Blaster who was the poor man's boombox.

Yes, Soundwave was the Decepticon's "Ghetto Blaster", one who transformed into a tape player, along with being Megatron's right hand robot; the true brains of any an operation. AND he had tapes like Frenzy, Rumble, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ravage, Overkill, Slugfest, Ratbat, Squawtalk, and Beastbox (..okay, I cheated a little, and looked them up on the web..).

Best episode ever was the battle between him and Blaster.

Plus, the voice was just too damn cool.  biggrin </geek>

Er... Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go do some pushups and grunt manly at the moon to save face and redeem myself

I still have this large original issue transformer that turns from a robot into a white jet fighter with red and black decals.  I can't remember his name.  Cool, though.  Anybody remember the name?

nice try Graham except Starscream wasn't white... he was Grey and Red and was Megatrons lackey... sheesh..

Starfire actually had to be pulled off shelves because of copyright issues...

Seems Hasbro thought it could get away with releasing a carbon copy of a Veritech Fighter VF1-J I believe, and call it a transformer and not pay the Macross people any money...

I thought the big white jet was Skyfire. I have the first season of Transformers on DVD, and he's the only white jet in there at all.

Of course if I'm wrong I'm wrong, cause I always loved GI Joe about 100 times more than transformers and honestly don't know all that much about them.

Due to the lawsuit type stuff already mentioned, when they put him in the cartoon they changed his head and slightly altered his name.  Not that I know way too much about this for a man my age or anything.
