I was just wondering if Xbox live accounts work on both Xbox 1 and the 360.  Since I finally got a live account for the 360, there's a few games for the original xbox I've been interested in playing online.

I don't see why not. My Xbox live account works for games such as Halo2; the game's live access is xbox live, not 360 live (emulation mode doesn't extend to adding live360 functionality into the games).

I've not tested my live account on an actual xbox1 since my upgrade though. I may be talking via my arse on this one.

Works just fine on both.  Just not at the same time of course.
